Hm, I made an interesting find looking around the EVGA forums earlier today - and this was posted by an EVGA Forum moderator on March 29.


* These drivers will be available sometime April 2010 (Release 256.xx)
* This will only work on Windows Vista & Windows 7 (32/64)
* This will only work on GTX 260 and above
* SLI is required. The same applies to dual-GPU cards.
* You need 3x straight DVI connections, one to each monitor (HDMI connections currently not supported). DVI-HDMI adapters is currently not supported.
* You need to be using a minimum of 3 monitors.

* For Surround, they can be any model or size. But they all need to have same resolution, refresh rate, and sync.
* For 3D Surround, all displays must be the same make and model, and you need 3D Vision-Ready displays and products. See here.

* The maximum resolution for each monitor is 2560x1600 (5760x1080 max. combined)


When someone asked about the HDMI port, he responded:


The 295 is not SLI. It's two GPUs on the same card. You need two individual cards in SLI. The same applies for the 295, even if it's multi-GPU. The HDMI connection on the 295 will not work with 3D surround anyway.


When someone questioned his information, he replied:

I got confirmation from both EVGA and Nvidia.

Is there another article contradicting what he's said? I suppose in the end it doesn't really matter, either way I won't be using their surround gaming technology with my graphics card. :-( Just interested and confused about all of this.

Wow, that really stinks. I guess NVidia has it wrong on their site. In your situation though, I guess it doesn't matter. At least your card's value is still decent. Hopefully the drivers will come out soon and we'll have a lot more answers.

As one of the former moderators over at EVGA I can tell you he has no inside information other than what he's read through third party sites. Don't take an EVGA forum moderator's word on unreleased products. Even though he is behind EVGA NDA, management tells EVGA mods nothing about unreleased products. On the other hand, I'm under direct NDA with nVidia. I can't talk about it though. HazMatt is a decent enough mod, but the mod pool has really gone in the toilet over there since I and several other mods resigned.
