This game is almost surely Direct2Drive's deal tomorrow, FYI.

There's a new "promotional" version of the demo that adds the Porsche GT3.

In other news, I'm at level 42 now, 100% offline play. And boy do I hate drift challenges.

Agreed. I have not played a racing game yet (aside from Ridge Racer 7 on the PS3) where I do not completely suck at drift racing... :(

I used to suck at the drifting. Then I tried the BMW M3 E36... AWEsome drifter. I can now drift like a pro! :)

In Shift though, I'm lost. Practicing sure helped, but I feel stuck at a very low level. The cars seem to have different specs in drift than in races, too.

I recently found out that you can skip the annoying "model shooting" sequences... only if you own a wheel or gamepad. There is no keyboard control for it ! I have a pad but I'm a keyboard guy. So here I am, playing Shift while my X360 pad sleeps on my lap waiting for the next darn pre-race cut-scene to skip...

I found with GRID I could drift with a controller, but not with a wheel. Even with the controller I wasn't great.

I respect the people who can drift in real life, but dammit... make it optional in games!
