It won't be my day one priority but I can DR it at some point.

Didn't figure :-P But I figured someone might be doing it but would be silly if 4 others were.

So I caved and bought it. *crosses fingers* GUI, Netcode and story are decent.

Im getting really antsy for this game, 2 more full days.... trying to survive at work by watching youtube videos but thats not good enough. I must know if it works on 3 screens!

I really liked Phantasy Star Online, and while this is no direct replacement for that game its the closest thing in a long time I think, and it just looks plain fun..

This could be even better than PSO, just wish there was a magic class and not only guns.

There is a magic class, The Siren, the girl...

Hopefully it doesn't suffer the typical UE3 widescreen engine issues and mouse acceleration...

The PC version is on sale retail already in places... but it won't actually unlock. Securom = date locker!

Yeah, I don't remember seeing the green 'XBOX360' bar across the top or the 'PS3' bar across the top. I guess Tesco jumped the gun.

The game uses Gamespy for...whatever it does so maybe that locks some of it. Not sure if retail copies from broken street dates are allowed to play offline atm.
Anywho, the game unlocks on Steam at 3PM EDT. Dunno exactly when the Euro copies are, just "Oct 30" afaik.

Tomorrow at 3PM I will be a happy man.

And its the secuROM activation of the retail release that is preventing ANY kind of play. Hopefully Steam only has Steam and no SecuROM.

SecuROM doesnt let you install prior to the street date.

Cuts down on the pre-zero-day piracy. Which is where most of it happens.

Companies take release dates very seriously... you can lose your job and your store can lose TONS of money for breaking street date.

It makes sense as we move toward accounts versus ownership that companies will enforce release dates electronicaly.

Release date locks certainly don't help stop piracy, if you're going to crack it, you're going to crack that out of it too .. (you can download it now if you want) .... yet here I am , not having to wait till tomorrow, but till the 30th! Erm.. why?

Not condoning it, but it adds up to +1 to piracy. :?

Not turning this into a piracy discussion, more jus pissed I have to wait another 5 days for no apparent reason. :x

Regional release dates are indeed stupid. Not sure the reasoning behind them, other than releasing on your market's typical new release day (isn't it common for the EU for new movies and such to come out on Fridays? Here is is Tuesdays).

Regional release dates (and perhaps regional pricing) are definately things that should change in the new internet era.
