tried but then the game just crashed and says not responding .
If you could maybe detail how i can edit the exe to 1920x1200 it would be much appreciated .
I tried this with my retail exe and the one available no cd as well thinking maybe i needed a cracked exe for this to work but to no avail.
Thanks for the effort either way Racer S.

if you choose a bad resolution/refresh rate it will just crash.. make sure you can support that resolution.
btw my exe is the cracked one and 53,482,288 bytes

Mercenaries 2 Custom Resolution Launcher
Edit Mercs2.ini in your game folder then run this utility. Leave it running during game startup or it will not work.
http://dl.tocaedit.com/merc2res.zip
Let me know, and Have Fun!
EDIT: I could have edited the game executable but its kinda big. So this will do.
Thanks for the quick fix but for some reason the characters looks a little too skinny when playing at 1920x1200 compared to playing the game on my Xbox 360 in 1080i Widescreen. I am not sure if not being able to actually choose Widescreen Res in the options even when adding 1920x1200 in the ini is the problem but at least your fix shows that these resolutions are available and will hopefully be added into the first patch.

Works great, nice one Racer_S!
But yes indeed everything is vertically stretched a bit. I think this is because the "widescreen 1" value basically changes the AR to 16:9 and so a 16:10 resolution will be stretched to fit. An AR fix will be needed as well as this resolution fix to get it running properly.
Just the usual example of a lazy console port.

Mercenaries 2 Custom Resolution Launcher v2
Added Aspect Ratio Fix
Possible crash fix?
http://tocaedit.com/forum/dload.php?action=file&file_id=115
To figure out your aspect do ResX / ResY
For example 1024 / 768 = 1.333
tested 1.25, 1.333, 1.777
i updated the file a few minutes after i posted this if you get some weird graphics glitches (white traffic) using the above values just download again

Can you post a link back to this thread, in case people have problems with the tool?
Also, can someone do a Detailed Report with the Racer_S fix.

Hello all.
When I try using Racer_S fix I keep getting this error "Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is unable to continue due to an error initializing you graphics hardware". My native resolution is 1440x900 and I have Merc2Res2 set to 1.6 and I have changed the res in my Mercs2.ini file but I stilll keep getting this error. Is there anyway to fix this?

Try changing your refresh rate to 59 or 60.
On another note, not a single donation, i spent at least 10 hours..
Seems theres a patch on the way anyway... kudos

You
