Multi-Game Widescreen Fixer

Dopefish I have COD 4 and the game allows you to set the screen for 16:10. It uses the resolution you have it set at it looks like. Is this not true Widescreen format ? If not can I use the fix ? I have my COD 4 thru Steam does that make a difference ?

On BF 2 do I just use the fix or do I have to put the GPG Signature in somewhere too. This is all new to me. I just got my widescreen. I have Doom 3 probs to look up too.

The GPG signature is just there to verify the validity of the archive. If you don't use GPG, then you can't verify it.

If you just use 16:10, CoD4 has that aspect ratio built in so you don't need to use my fix for it.

For BF2, just run the widescreen fixer, choose BF2 from the list, select your aspect ratio, run BF2, then when in game, use semi-colon to enable it.

plz help
does not work for me..........
wen i edit the shortcut +widescreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200
the game start by showing the logo bf2 and quits.
to make it work again i put space + widescreen 1 + szx 1920 + szy 1200
but the fix aint working.
if i start widescreenfixer and all the same as above...samething happens???
someone ad the same problem??????
oh yea and a solution too???

I cant enable the hotfix. i press ; and nothing happens.

Im from out of the US so it must be some problem with the keyboard key layout.

Any solution??

I had this problem too. But don't worry its an easy fix.

For some reason wsf.cfg doesn't contain the identity of the key for enabling the fixer, its just left blank. So make sure you have the entry

Hotkey=186

Happy widescreen!

Im not quite sure if this patch actually makes BF2 widescreen as such, to me it just seems to zoom the field of view out further thus give the impression of seeing more of the playing field. The actual Aspect ration of builds etc does change does it? Nor does the HUD???

Hotkey=186

It should automatically set it in the config file when you exit. That setting exists if you wish to change it to a different key.

It adjusts the FOV and nothing else. The aspect ratio doesn't need modified. The HUD does stretch, however.

Please explain, Im new to the Widescreen club.

I suggest you search the forum for these questions. It has nothing to do with the great patcher Dope made ;)

1920x1200 = 16:10
1600x1200 = 4:3

Use the following for the shortcut:

C:Program FilesEA GAMESBattlefield 2BF2.exe" +menu 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200

Hi all

Im new with widescreen! i see all the info about playing bf2 with wide screens and im having troubles to get it working on ranked servers.

I got a Samsung 226BW and trying to get it work in 1680x1050 60hrz

I used the widescreenfix and it works fine only in singleplayer mode
the ; key works fine too.

But when i join a rankedserver the game stops and im back on my desktop again.

I hope someone can help me out and tell me what i do wrong.

There will be any upgrade to make it work with the new patch?

I know DICE has say "we have fixed the widescreen resolution" but it's not true, maybe for me only? , But i have noticed that the fov in widescreen res, is wrong. I like much more the fix of this software.

I'll be working on a v1.50 fix shortly.

The game does support and handle the FOV correctly, so I'm unsure of why people are complaining. Take screenshots and compare for yourselves. Make sure you add +widescreen 1 to your shortcut, too.
