Omg hayden your the beast! The update works for me(after I replaced d2d edition with gog executible, I can run the game in full screen.

I only get like 30-40 fps in cities. Can your come up with some patch that makes us get more fps?

Weird, I replaced D2D exe with GOG exe and nothing changed for me, using either "latest version" or "GOG?" version.

you have to use gog edition from the scroll down menu in flawless and when you replace your exec you have to replace paul.dll as well and run both as admin running actual file not the launcher.

Again - I don't own it.

If you want to use a cracked EXE. Sure I'll add it for you.

Oh, sorry man. I didn't catch that part.

But sure, I prefer to use a crack, anyway. Good job, btw.

Spanks.

Ah, thanks, that did it - I hadn't replaced the paul.dll before since they're the same size.

e: Although - and this is strange - if I launch the game directly instead of using launcher (which is needed to get this program to work), there's an annoying blur or DOF filter on the screen any time I move my character. This doesn't happen when I launch game from launcher, even if I have all the DOF and blur stuff enabled there.

Very strange. I did some further testing and it happens as soon as I use the "remove vertical black bars" checkbox. I don't have vertical black bars, but unchecking the setting reintroduces the horizontal black bars.

So long story short, going to 16:10 AR with this program introduces some annoying and heavy handed blur effect if you even walk around in-game, at least for me (using GOG exe and paul.dll on D2D installation).

I can confirm Flawless not working on XP. Crashes on launch every time. (Yes, C++ 2010 redist installed)

Regardless, huge thanks to HaYDeN for the tool. For those of you benefiting from his hard work, don't be afraid of hitting that Donate button on his site!

Wow didn't realise people still used Windows XP, Probably a NT specific function I've used somewhere.... I'll look into it.

While I use Win 7 on my gaming computer, lots of old corporate computers are stuck on windows XP. Enterprise moves at a snails pace. They even make us use IE 5.5 or 6 to access some of our intranet sites. :doh

Yeah, some people ride the cutting edge...I'm at the lazy end. ;) Didn't even upgrade from 2000 to XP until a month before Vista released.

Thanks for looking into the compatibility issue.

Google seems to think your memory is poked, seems its a common issue.....?

Be interested to hear if any others have successfully executed on WinXP.

By poked I assume faulty? Went ahead and started a memtest...up to 84% coverage with no errors so far.

I gets more interesting, though. I removed the c++ 2010 runtime, tried the program, and it failed like before. Next I removed the UPX compression, and presto the app runs fine and dandy:

Haven't tried it with a game yet, but there's something interesting going on. Any theories?

Hello Hayden,

yr program is running fine under win xp here (no memory crash etc). there are only two problems which i discovered:

1. when the fix is enabled, the plugin never finds the witcher process. (i tried everything)

2. when you open the configuration window (with settings for hotkey etc.), you cannnot close it anymore. have to close than the flawless program via taskmanager.

Did you managed to detect the witcher process under xp?

(why i am using xp? never change a running system. :D for me, win xp is quite stable os and ie. Witcher 2 is running very smooth, without any problems or FPS dropdowns and i dont have the "uber pc". win7 is still quite new os and seems to use a lot resources by himself. (win vista was always buggy.) I wanted to wait for os change until the first games are released who doesnt support DX9 anymore.)

Noob here came to ask what GoG means. I have the retail version, is there a fix for that yet? Last post I saw someone had posted their info but nothing after that. Thanks for the work you guys do.

First off: THANK YOU HAYDEN!!!!! You rock in ways only the gods speak of. :rockout

The ALT hotkey not working for the flawless program is because the game binds it to "Target Lock" toggle.

You either have to unbind it in the game launcher or bind it something else in Flawless.

GoG is Good Old Games. A website that offers the game with no DRM like the retail version has.

I also have the retail version however I d/l the GoG executable and paul.dll from gamecopyworld.

This is "supposedly" linked with better FPS in the game however I haven't noticed to much of that.

However, the game launches 4-5 times faster because of the lack of DRM checking garbage and the retail version of the game runs fine with the GoG Witcher2.exe and paul.dll.

You'd have to replace your game exe with the GoG one. Then run the flawless widescreen fix using the GoG game profile.

I also have the retail version with the GOG files, but can't make it work with the flawless utility, it detects the game but doesn't remove the black bars.

GOG game profile??? What is that?

EDIT: NVM, got the new version, but sadly that didn't help me either, the only change for me, is that menu text ingame is now unreadable (like somebody used a white "censor pencil" on the menu items).
