AMD ATI 12.2 Beta Driver working with WSF R374

It's appears to be working.
Asking Tealc to verify right now as well.

Just verified with the latest

Just verified with the latest widescreen fixer and AMD Catalystâ„¢ 12.2. It's not crashing.

There must have been something not working with ATI...

That would be terrible if

That would be terrible if I've spent the last week trying to diagnose a crash related to a driver issue. :/

Glad it's working now.

It's detecting all the settings correctly?

Also, when you started getting the crashes with Widescreen Fixer, did you update your driver before that?

Hey Dopefish!Still nothing

Can't delete/shred it cause it's in use!

Check your system tray. If it says there's another instance running, then there's another instance running.

!That's why...

With all due respect sir, there is no WSF showing up nowhere but task manager.
And... for 1.5 min. only. As I see, the difference between now and week ago is about 90 sec.
which I'm able to observe it at least somewhere.
A week ago WSF was appearing for one or max two seconds only., then it just disappearing.

As of my previous statement I've got 3 PC at my household and each one of them
got the same story.

Will it be nice if someone would pointed out on any sourceklue of, as I see, not just my problem.

Dopefish, is there any available result of your review of my DMP file that I've sent you earlier?

Program simply won't start.

Thank's!

The .dmp file you sent me

The .dmp file you sent me previously was an invalid file.

Try doing what I said before with procdump.

  • Download ProcDump, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd996900

  • In an administrator command prompt, run this: procdump.exe -e -x "Widescreen Fixer.exe" "Widescreen Fixer.dmp"

  • Send me the .dmp file. If you have no place to upload it, you can upload it here: https://files.gaemsofyesterday.com/

Are you using Eyefinity for nVidia Surround? Just curios. I am monitoring also this thread..and never had any problems on nVidia Surround...
Have you tried to use the latest drivers from the previous post? It is said to fix the problem:)

Thank's for reply

Thank's for reply helifax.

As of my knowledge we have the youngest 295.73 drivers.
All windows drivers is up to date too.

DxDiag as of my post #1039. Simple setup.

First two weeks of January it worked then ... I almost braked my eyes at this 3840X1024.
This is huge difference and pleasure to play with WSF. And I glad I did for some small amount of time.
At list now I know how things suppose to LOOK like. Ratio used 3 monitors through TripleHead Digital 4:3

Will try to get DMP for dopefish., Is there any available tutorials on "how to get" matter.
m afraid my IQ is far back at this point. Sorry

and Thank you!

Hi,

Are you using TripleHead ? If so... I cant really help you here...have 0 experience with TripleHear2Go:( I have an nVidia Surround system. I think dopefish is the best person for the job;))

Hi,I'm using a beta version

Hi,

I'm using a beta version of catalyst driver and WF v3.1 r386 and it doesn't seem to catch my triplescreen res. I guess that's why I can't activate the fix in ME3, it never say "fix enabled: yes" in WF panel (I use the activate key at main menu of ME3 demo, and then navigate to next menu to check if fix was enabled. It doesn't work. And in app CP there is always "no" at the "fix enabled" line).

Do you have Eyefinity set

Do you have Eyefinity set up?

Even if you don't have Eyefinity set up and working it should still detect the total screen resolution correctly based on what Windows reports.

Can you take a screenshot of your display settings as well?

Don't bother my previous post

Don't bother my previous post dopefish, I've just installed a new leaked version (lastest, 28 February) and detection is working again.
Gonna check if this version helps with off centered hud in mass effect 3 demo (when using WF).

I think the off-center part

Posted: 05 Mar 2012, 16:48
by dopefish
I think the off-center part has to do with my code somehow. I experienced this offset issue myself when using Eyefinity, but it was only a couple of pixels and decided it was okay. I'm not sure if it has a more drastic effect in other games.

Ok here is what I've

Ok here is what I've found:

I set my triplescreen with bezel comp. in catalyst (compensation is ok on windows desktop)

If I set my triplescreen res in the game options (3840*960) then:
- I have to use WF or the menus are zoomed in
- HUD is off centered to the right a lot (see ss below, can't aim anymore)
- bezel comp doesn't work at all (maybe that's why HUD is off centered. And as I have to set bezel comp to max in catalyst that's why off centering is that important for my setup)

If I set my bezel compensated res in game options (4220*1024) then:
- no need to use WF anymore as ingame menus are not zoomed in
- HUD is not off centered
- bezel comp. works halfly (I have CRTs, so big bezels to compensate. However it is fully compensated under desktop but not ingame. Ingame it's like it was compensating half my bezel size).

ps: yes, that's with eyefinity tech.

I was more interested in

I was more interested in seeing screenshots of your Catalyst/Eyefinity settings, as well as your desktop resolution (right-click on desktop -> Screen Resolution).

It's incredibly odd that it would detect only one display with an incorrect resolution.

As said above it was only

Posted: 05 Mar 2012, 18:52
by neelrocker
As said above it was only doing that with previous beta catalyst. With lastest leaked version from 28/02 detection is ok again:

edit: don't bother neither with off centered hud, it was because I was setting ingame res to 4220*1024 (for which I had not set a bezel comp in drivers) instead of 4220*960 (the one I had set bezel comp for). With 4220*960 in game options hud is centered correctly (I knew 4220*1024 was not a normal res for a 3840*960 compensation^^).

DOpefish, have you considered adding the ability to select a plugin by right-clicking the Systray icon?
