My problem is I can only see a lovely scrunched up image on one of my 3 screens (3x1920x1200, HD5870).

The game isn't giving me the option to go above 1920x1200 so I'm stuck in one screen. Realise I'm probably being very dense, but how do I get the game to release the higher resolutions to me?

(Win7 with extended desktop working fine)

Do you have bezel comp on? My game sees 5760x1080 just fine.

I just bought 3 22'' led philps screens (1920*1080) and i wanted to play cod black ops.
I can select the 5760*1080 resolution only everything is streched out.
I just donwloaded the Black Ops ratio fix tool and opened it before i started the multiplayer game, everything is still streched out, did i miss a important step?

Please help this little frustrated newbie.

I assume you're talking about the widescreenfixer?

Press the button to activate (default is * on the numpad) when you're in game. Make sure you select the right game in the widescreenfixer.

I was fortunate enough to see the fix when it first came out, but then a Steam update broke the fix, since the initial release Wide Screen Fixer got some updates, so I had to learn the new tricks.
First thing was I had to use the "hot key" this now turns on (and off) the Widescreen fix, removes the stretching.
I also installed .Net 3.5, the link is available at

I'm running Windows 7 x64 not sure if I needed it but it didn't seem to hurt.
Reading the setup instructions was a big help too

it got it working right now. the only problem i have is that the main menu in COD BO is nog centered over the screens.
it is half on the left screen and half on the middle screen.

u guys know how to fix this?

In MP or SP? The SP "main menu" isn't stationary.

For the MP one... the only thing I can think of is to make sure you're choosing the right aspect ratios and number of monitors.

And there is not a fix. IMO it doesn't matter, the positioning of the menus is irrelevant. They still work (you need to sometimes put the mouse over and hit enter) and the game is perfect, who give a monkeys about the positioning of the picture behind the menus?

Depends on if he means the picture or the actual menu.

Why? Even if the menu is off centred, it matters little as long as the in game experience is right.

the problem was that i could not search servers when i used the fixtool, but i figured it out, i have to point my mouse arrow on server browser and the hit enter.

Well the actual menu should be 'centered' and not partly on one monitor and party on another if he's choosing the right aspect. So... if it's not centered then something's wrong such as the aspect. But I guess he figured it out and it was the 'mouse issue' that was talked about several times earlier in this thread.

Why do none of the COD games ever support EF? Guess they never played BC2.

BTW, great job on the "Patch" :).

So is this Patch safe to use on MP Servers.

Just downloaded an update automatically on Steam for Black Ops. Didn't even cross my mind that it may affect fix. Of course, now the fix is no longer working. :evil:

what is in the patch? fixes for the random freezing perchance... hope hope

I dont think you can play the game without updating. We'll just have to wait for a fix
