"Since Sims 2 support all of wide screen resolution up to 1600 x 1200 out of the box, there is no special tweak / patch need for wide screen support under 1600 x 1200.
However it did not support resolution higher than 1600 x 1200 out of the box, we have to edit a file to add 1920 x 1080 and 1920 x 1200 support.

I was going crazy trying to get it to work. The deal is, if you have installed any expansions, then you need to change the Graphics Rules.sgr file of the last expansion you installed.
For example, I have Open for Business so I'd go to
C:gamessims 2 open for businessTSDataResCOnfigGraphic Rules.sgr instead of searching for c:gamessims2TSdata....
