I just bought a Gigabyte HD 6970 GV-R697OC2-2GD video card, It has 1 display port, 1 hdmi and two dvi ports. I have 4 displays hooked up in a 4x1 configuration. AMD's eyefinity driver recognizes all 4 displays but I can only get 3 to work at once. I am using an active display port to dvi adapter. I called Gigabyte the tech support guy said it only supports 3 displays is this right? The box clearly says it supports 4. See pic below :

What video card should i be buying if this isn't the right one to do a 4x1 configuration?

The one with 2 mini-dp. Or you could even further and get the one that has 4 DP and 2 DVI.

with a 6970 you can put maximum 2 monitors on your DVI + HDMI Ports! you need to put the other two monitors on the Display Port! this could be possible with a Display port hub. easier way. Bring Graphic card back, and buy another with 2 Mini Display Port cables.
