Hitman: Blood Money

Post by Robdoggz »

I just got this game from my cousin who works at a certain retailer that accidently put some out for sale hehe. Anyways the game looks like it has native WS support but only common resolutions for my native 1216x684 i had to edit a configuration file in X:Hitman Blood Money named "HitmanBloodMoney" its a simple fix when you open it you will see what i mean. Here are some screenies i just got this but today i also got my new dish hd setup so its hard to choose what to do lol.

How's the game? I've never played any of the Hitman games. Are they kinda similar to Max Payne? Will it run at decent framerates on my system?

The Hitman games are a kind of cross between Splinter Cell (without the instant Game Over if you get spotted) and a 'thinking' FPS. I like 'em, they're fun. :D

Cool screenies, by the way. :D

Yea hit man is pretty cool i have played the first two that i know of and they seemed alot harder than this one. I have played threw the first level and its sorta like max payne but your supposed to not be spotted but if you are you just need to open a can of whoop a$$ so its pretty cool. I am not sure how many fps you will get on your system but i have everything maxed out and im getting around 30 steady frames and peaks of like 65. I may turn the settings down to see if it works better i only set everything on max cause i did it threw the config file for my resolution.

First hitman showed lots of promise, but was buggy. It was good but frustrating at times.
Hitman 2 was very polish, and the best in the series (IMHO)
Hitman 3 was good, but not as good as part 2. Wasn't as polished and felt more like an expansion pack.

I've been looking forward to Hitman 4, but the graphics still dont look as next-gen as they could. I wish they'd just license the Splinter Cell 3 engine or something. But again, this is a subjective opinion.

Yes, Splinter Cell is Unreal Engine based. :)

And if you ever bought an Audigy 2, you got Hitman 2 free. ;) Along with Soldier of Fortune 2.

I really liked Hitman 2. It was kinda story driven - although many people said it had too many levels, I like games that have more than a half-dozen missions. ;)

Codename 47 was very enjoyable - I remember it being the first game to have proper ragdoll and faric physics: you could walk through a wall hanging, and it would move around as you walked into it. Very CPU intensive, though; I played it at first on a min spec box... worked smoothly everywhere but when walking through wallhangings.

Contracts was a bit too spacey, although I really enjoyed the remake levels... it just wasn't long enough when all is said and done.

Post some 4:3 comparison shots, so we can be sure the FOV is correct.

When you post shots comparing widescreen vs 4:3, you have to post shots from the exact same spot.

So I take it we don't know for sure if the game adds space to the sides or takes it away from the top?

So the top and bottom are being chopped off at 16:10 ...

Even in your 10:16 shot Corruptor the width FOV isn't any different as these screenshots of yours show ... http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/
