Can't you disable the other two monitors for those games?

Yes, you can, at least you can with TH2Go.
I have a couple games that I must do that in order to play them.
Also, if you make movies, you have to use a single screen for the replay capture and using it in WMM.
Some games are setup for this, so you have to switch to sngle screen.

maybe go back but itd have to be the dell 30" or..

Heh, so now you can upscale on Blu-ray (most of those are cinematic ARs) and get crappy side black bars for pretty much all normal HD content. Yay?

Would prefer not to go back to single monitor gaming.. but I still enjoy gaming on my plasma for the consoles, etc.

If a game is broken in multi-monitor and there's no workaround for it, I just cut off the left and right monitors and play on a single screen.. or play in a window that fills one of the screens so I can use the other two for my web browser and zune software.

I may be disappointed that a game I have doesn't support eyefinity properly, but I'm not going to pass up playing a good game because of it.

I strongly prefer games that work in surround, so much so that I'll do everything possible to get a game working correctly with my TH2Go (hence the hacks and mods). I will play single-screen when I must, and I do still enjoy those games, but more often than not I will choose to play a triplehead-happy game instead. For one of my all-time favorites--SWBF2--I run the game in a window, centered in my 3 screens, @1820x1024 (16:9), so I can get the biggest viewing area possible without breaking gameplay. If I can ever fix that game I fear the rest of my collection will get neglected for a long time.

Multi-monitor support has also influenced purchasing decisions, often as the 'yay' or 'nay' tipping point.
