No need to make any mods to EDID or any other fancy tricks to get this adapter to work @ 120Hz Full HD.

Just a side note; I only was able to test this with a single display. Haven't had big issues, only one time I had to re-jack the plug since the monitor didn't wake from sleep.

I found a solution for when you need to put your computer to sleep (when wake from sleep, no picture; have to re-jack mini displayport).

First; you need to use a smart power strip (They have a controlling outlet that you set the sensitivity for, so that the controlled outlets turn on when it detects the controlling outlet is drawing your preset power).

Second; Plug your computer into the controlling outlet.

Third; Plug your monitor into one of the controlled outlets.

Fourth; Plug an AC to USB DC power supply (I use a spare one that came with my old iPhone (No FLICKERING)) into a controlled outlet. (This step is optional to save you USB ports and to prevent flickering in cases where USB power from computer isn't high enough to power adapter).

Fifth; Plug your monoprice adapter's USB cable into a AC to USB DC PSU from the fourth step, or waste another USB port on your computer and possibly get flickering.

That is all. No more having to re-jack connectors. :rockout

I might be posting a 3x120Hz Monitor Eyefinity setup using three of these adapters with a 6990 + 6970 in the near future.

This is another way to solve this issue for those using triple projector setup and don't want to fry your bulbs when your comp goes to sleep.

The only thing you really need to do is have your adapters powered by the AC USB DC PSUs plugged into the controlled outlets.

Thats it; only the adapters require a power reset in order for the display(s) to work after computer wakes from sleep.

This is the first I've ever heard of an issue like that. If this is even a possability, wouldn't the best course of action be to change your power settings in the control panel to never sleep? Why would you jump through so many hoops when you can just turn off sleep mode? Seems like such a round about way to deal with it instead of directly. If you're away from your projection environment for so long that it drops to sleep mode you're using it wrong anyways and killing bulb life. I only have the projectors on when in use. If I leave the room they get turned off. It's the reason why I still have a half the life left on my original bulbs after almost two years of use.

Of course I know that. Myself, I set the sleep function to only be used manually. Just finding information that might be useful based on my observation and testing with the adapter to better help those who may use it on this forum. I'm just showing that if a person wanted, they could technically use these in a projection setup, since the projectors can have constant power, where only the adapters will power down; in the highly unlikely case a projection user would use sleep mode.

For me, personally; I like all peripheral devices connected to my computer to be powered down completely when my PC is off or in sleep mode. My PC is in my room with me, and all the lights are distracting.

I got that adapter 2 weeks ago, set up Eyefinity and it just keeps giving me the DisplayPort failure error, went to grab the Apple adapter and it works without a hiccup.
And I only paid $80 for the Apple one after price matching so it ain't bad at all. I like monoprice but this adapter looks really cheap and didn't get the job done. Kudos to customer service though, they're very responsive and helpful with the RMA process.
