Vrealities.com - Is this site a scam/joke? + JIM BLACKHALL

Post by Spectralancer »

Have any of you been to vrealities.com? It's straight out of 1995, yet claims to serve a plethora of ultra high-profile clients. Everything they sell looks ridiculously outdated, like this :

- Look at that GIF, yes a GIF, seriously WTF? Anyone who pays $4000 for a rocking chair is braindead. So what's the deal with this site? I'm seriously confused. One thing I did find interesting is the X-Gun:

Seems ridiculously overpriced, though. I wonder how it compares to Jim Blackhall's homebrew Game Gun ($250 preorder):

That guy is amazing.

Those are the only two universal gun devices I've ever seen. Ideally, I'd like to use one with three projectors, with a trackIR and 3rd Space, so maybe I could buy Jim's, without the LCD. I'd really like some thoughts on this, because there is NO information online.

I have to agree, that most of that stuff is crap. We can do more with Cameras, and wiimoste, and gyromouses and such

I've been thinking about this since he posted it and I still can't figure out whether this is spam, a joke/scam site or real. Either way, it shows how important the aesthetics of a site is to its authenticity.

Thats true and its easy to think this is not a real site from the looks of it. I did a check and they have a whois record since 1999:
Record expires on 07-Jul-2010.
Record created on 07-Jul-1999.

I don't see how. Even with unlimited money, there's just no reason to buy from them because everything they sell is outdated. I'm thinking it's a joke site now. Do you have a link to the Star Trek bridgeroom?
