Great hack :)
Too bad I've only got the steam version :(
If any one does find a way round it please let us know!

Thanks.

Sorry about the Steam version. I'll be sure to share a fix if I find one.
It's a lot more difficult when memory editing these games. ;)

Still working on that. I'll get there someday. ;)

Rise of the Argonauts is UE3. Think you could fix that? Here's a list of games using the UE3 engine. Anything else worth fixing?

Could possibly fix Rise of the Argonauts. Unfortunately it seems no demo was released, and according to dental's DR the game behaves oddly. With Frontlines I was able to test and fix the demo prior to the full game.

I'll do a little more research on RotA.

Wow, UE3 is even more popular than I expected. Not sure what else is worth fixing...haven't even heard of several of the games in that list. I should have Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway in hand in the near future and I'll attempt that one.

Just so you know, the fix appears to work ok in online MP , I joined PunkBuster-enabled games and never got kicked. 8)

BiA Hell's Highway is an exceptional and very underrated game. I thought it was much better than Call of Duty 2 or World at War.

That's great. The patcher changes very little code, so I was hoping online would work. At least PB is not as ominous as VAC. ;)

Glad to hear it. I was tired of WWII after BF, CoD1, and MOHAA, so this will be my first big jump back into the genre. Still waiting for WaW to reach my preferred price point.

Here's a fix that will hopefully work on the Steam version of Frontlines:
DOWNLOAD STEAM FIX

Would someone test it and let me know? If it's successful I'll add it to the first post.

It's strange how the HUD, menus and cinematics scale correctly in ws but all stretch in surround. Nothing unusual, but it got me wondering.
Do you think there's any chance that one of the AR values that you hacked was actually controlling the aspect of 2D elements, and should've been left to 16:10 for 3x 16:10 gameplay for instance ?

Your fix is great and I'm sure hacking a 25MB exe is nothing close to a walk in the park... Just asking, y'know, on a theoretical level.
