I am curious if there is any way to set up a hot key to turn Eyefinity on and off.

I would like this feature so I can have 3 seperate monitors @ 1920 X 1200 so when I open a program or firefox it will open maximized in one monitor.

Then when I want to play a game I can hit the hotkey to switch to Eyefinity mode.

Has anyone set anything like this up or is it even possible to have 3 separate monitors @ 1920 X 1200 each.

Yeah just use the ATI profiles manager and when it asks you how you want to activate it, check the box that says hotkey and set the hotkey combo you want.

I personally do not use the hotkeys but I tried them. i use the desktop shortcuts or just pick it from the menu of profiles. You need to make a profile for each setup you want. Toggling to/from eyefinity is a bit buggy though. You may have to do it 3 times in a row for it to work (activate the profile) and sometimes it doesnt work at all so I still have to go manually do it. Only takes a moment though.

Hmmm well thats pretty weak. I tried that and yea bit buggy. I had to hit the desktop icon 3 times before it worked and went into eyefinity. But then I can't get it to turn off. I have to manually turn it off. Then it clones all my displays. When I turn it off I want it to go back to having Win7 control the layout of the displays. So then I can have them all be individual displays.

Ok so I set up a extended display in Catayst and made a desktop shortcut for that. That works on the first click. But to get it back to Eyefinity like you said it takes three times. Wonder if it is one click per display haha. I am just curious if they ever test any of these features. Because as of now it does not seem like it.

Also I can't get it to remember that my center display is my primary, when it does it sets my left monitor as the far right monitor. But if I set my left monitor as the primary everything is right. WTF.

Maybe someone can figure this out. I am used to Nvidia and this Catalyst stuff seems very buggy and strange.
I was messing around trying to figure out what exactly was going on or try to reproduce the results.

So I made a Eyefinity and a Extended Desktop shortcuts.

The Eyefinity takes 3 times to configure right. Each time I click it all 3 screens flash and then clone. The 3rd time it works and sets all displays correctly. This happens every time.

The Extended works the first try, but on the first click it makes my left monitor my far right. If I click the Extended Shortcut again all screens flash and it is then set up correctly. I have my center monitor the primary in extended and thats how I want it and the purpose of setting up a Extended shortcut.

I guess this is fine but it would be nice if they could fix the hotkeys and shortcuts or if someone can let me know what might be the problem.

Now if only I could figure out a way to make my triple screen wallpaper span correctly with my center being the primary. I don't know if this is even possible. I would prolly have to edit the wallpaper in photoshop. Right now the left monitor is showing the wallpaper part that should be on the far right. The center is the left part of wallpaper, and right is the middle part of wallpaper.

I hope all that made sense haha.

Another thing I just noticed. When I use the Extended profile I get a lot of like tearing and my monitors kind of jump up and down when I launch things. Doesn't seem to happen when I set it up manually.

I too am having the same issues with selecting profiles and not working, I always have to go in a manually create a group or extended desktop. I ended up just keeping the eyefinity group on at all times and using ATI HydraVision Hydragrid. With Hydragrid I'm able to use the monitors basically like an extended desktop. The only problem is you have to right click on your window and attach it to grid when you open a new window this way it doesn't stretch all three monitors. It's not perfect but a nice workaround. This also allows you to use 5760x1200 wallpaper correctly. I would like to see ATI expand on Hydravision altogether in how it works with a 3x1 group.

Where is that located @ can you explain how to set that up. I just had to mess around and cut and edit a wallpaper to get it to work with the center monitor as the main. So far it is working correctly. But when I'm not in Eyefinity I get jumpy displays both displays that are hooked up to DVI. Like the bottom half of screens are tearing lines I think that is what tearing is. This only happens when I open a program. Or move something on the monitor. I wish in Eyefinity there were more option as to what monitor you want to be your main. I will try to locate that Hydragrid thing. I would rather have my monitor on the left in eyefinity and no jumping displays as long as I can open stuff maximized in each display. This is really irritating.

FYI - the "bug" that we found with the CCC Hotkey / shortcut for the "Eyefinity" mode has been investigated, route caused and the will be a fix coming up in a couple of driver releases time. There may be a caveat in that the hotkey looks for saved settings in the registry but those settings are not carried across when a new driver is installed.

I'll let you know which driver it turn up in when its released, but its likely to be a couple of releases time.

Thanks for that, i also have a problem where the position of my fourth monitor is not saved and always restarts itself to the left side of my Eyefinity group.

Playing an Eyefinity game does the same, after closing the game, screens flash and the position of the fourth monitor gets reset, very annoying.

So whats that mean. I am used to Nvidia and they release drivers often it does not seem like ATI cares to due this so a couple of driver releases time that could mean 6 months a year. Why don't they just fix the problem it is obviously a problem right. Does ATI not test anything when they update a driver to me it does not seem like it. This is my first exp with ATI used to always use Nvidia I went ATI for Eyefinity but now it doesn't even seem like they are really working or fully supporting it. Whats the deal. Why should I have to wait for several driver releases to get something working that should work out of the box?
