Anyone else play an old shooter at 60fps with perfect mouse aim, then play a newer shooter and even 40-50fps feels sluggish?

I hate that.

A bit, but 40-50 is fine for me.

It's odd, though. A lot of folks cun't tell the difference between 25fps and 60, some can. Some can stomach games at 25fps, whereas i cannot. Though the folks that have a hard time telling seem to be a little older. Fridn iof mine, he's 40 this years, and he tells me a game run butter-smooth on his rgi, but i get Fraps going and he's getting 30fps.

Is it an just not being exposed to such technologies early in life? Is it purely physiological? An eye thing? A brain thing? A mix? It's an odd thing.

Mroe to your point, it seems some games' control behaviour are more affected my framerate than others of the same genre.

This is true, Crysis feels silky smooth to me at 30-35fps. I've been playing the original Call of Duty lately though, as well as newer games Borderlands and Modern Warfare 2, and the newer ones just feel soooo sluggish by comparison to CoD at a locked 60fps.

CoD being a PC exclusive and the others not might have something to do with it.

I just bought Ghostbusters in the Steam sale and KBM control in that game at anything below 60fps is a freaking terror, I ended up switching to my Xbox pad.

I think all the extra graphical shit makes it harder to differentiate the output. All the post processing, texture effects, lighting effects, and so on make a much more cluttered gameworld which makes it harder to focus on certain things.
