hello.

i just ordered a HD5770 to come in.
im trying to configure a setup involving 2x 20"LCDs and 2x 7" LCDs
i just found out that my Triplehead2go Digital Edition, will not detect my 7" VGA LCD's.

i was hoping to have 1x 20" LCD via DVi connector,
1x 20" LCD via displayport, and my 2x 7" LCDs connected on TH2G onto the second DVi connector of the HD5770.

I can forget the TH2G, so now my alternative is to connect the 2x 7" LCDs on a secondary card (let say an Nvidia Card)

MY QUESTION IS,

can I STILL USE EYE-Finity via an HD5770 in conjuction with a secondary card?

NOW i am hoping that i can connect 2x 20" LCDs to the HD5770, and 2x 7" LCDs on a secondary graphics card, and use EYE-finity to run the four displays as ONE Desktop...

I will welcome SoftTH if need be...

IS THIS POSSIBLE?
I dont want to deal with games in windowed mOde!!!!

Hi it will only be able to extend the display on the second graphics card. You won't be able to duplicate the primary display or use it to create part of an eyefinity group.

You won't be able to use mismatched monitor resolutions to create an eyefinity group. You can't make a 4 monitor group without using the six port version of the 5870. Eyefinity does not support using other graphics cards to drive additional displays to become part of eyefinity group.

So with those monitors you would be limited to two screen eyefinity 2 x 20". You could also run two extended displays from the second graphics card for the 7" monitors.

Eyefinity is not good with 2 monitors because the bezel is in the center of the image. You would be better getting 3 x 20" monitors.

acutally, the 2x 20" would be stacked vertically, one monitor on top, and one on bottom..

in windows xp, i was getting a resolution of 1680x2100... with was the best simulation monitor setup that worked for me..

(FOV was not high.. 0.8, instead of 4.6 for tiplehead)

because in lockon, and black shark, the game would freeze when i zoom back in the cockpit view in a triplehead setup of 4320x900..

anyways. in my futrue setup, i was hoping to get a setup like this working..

20" on top
20" in the middle
and 2x 7" side by side under the middle 20"

anyways, i will be happy to run 1680x2100 again, but this time under Windows 7 via Eye-finity

At least with Windows 7, you should be able to run multiple cards from differing brands, though I am yet to try it.
