Hi there,

Seeing how the the Dark Mod has just been released ( :D ), I re-installed Doom 3 (and the Resurrection of Evil expansion pack as well, just for the hell of it) in order to play this great looking mod. Yes, I installed the official 1.31 patch as well. Also, I have the latest Nvidia drivers.

However, for the life of me, I cannot get Doom3 to play on anything other than a 640 x 480 display resolution! Sure, I've altered the 'cfg' file (as laid out in the appropriate Wide Screen Gaming entry) but it always defaults to the most basic resolution possible. Very frustrating!

Any ideas how I can resolve this problem, as it looks Pig Ugly at this minimalist resolution?

Thanks,

DANNY

make the .cfg read-only? Try altering the resolution from the in-game console? If i recall, enter "r_customwidth X;r_customheight X;r_mode -1;vid_restart". (without quotes, of course) into the console while you're playing. Teh semi-colon allows multiple cvars in one line and the last command will restart your video.

X for whatever values you desire.

It's been a while, but I think a lot of D3 mods have their own .cfg files.

http://www.mindplaces.com/darkmod/ I may have to check this mod out for myself. I haven't touched my D3 since i finished the expansion pack.

EDIT: thar be word of you issue on the Dark Mod forums, and one pointed to this: http://modetwo.net/darkmod/wiki/index.php?title=DoomConfig.cfg

Thanks Abram - I'll try that.

Be warned, the Dark Mod website keeps crashing (presumably due to the mad rush by Internet People to get their eager hands on the mod!).

Thanks,

DANNY

No, Doom 3 refuses to play on anything but the 640 x 480 resolution!

But never mind, as the Dark Mod plays no problem on a widescreen resolution, etc!

DANNY :D
