Interesting, lots of gamers have been wanting something like this for TH2G. Probably be a while before this tech hits smaller displays though.

I wonder too if these are actually plasmas vs LCDs, because this sentence...

"An injection compression moulding process followed by film laminating technology results in glass running right to each model's very edge..."

...implies a glass screen is used.

I just talked with a couple friends the other day that were telling me about the huge LCD screen in Dallas Stadium. This has got to be the most overkill thing in sports I've ever heard of. Didn't going to games used to mean watching it live instead of on TV?

There's already a lot of controversy over it hanging too low after a Tennessee Titan punt was blocked by it. The NFL is making a ruling on it and owner Jerry Jones is reportedly resisting raising it higher.

The tech is allready used in Macbook Pro's as the artical says.

It's not quite what the TH2G guys have been wanting though (sadly) as pointed out here:
But if you thought borderless meant the range can display images to the very edge of the screen – forget it.

I freaking LOVE glass front displays, Sure theres some glare but I love being able to clean my CRT monitor with rougher materials and not have to worry about it, like I have to on my LCD monitors.

I'm sure its an LCD though, they seemed pretty confident about that.

LG has launched what it has labelled as the world’s first range of borderless LCD TVs.

Overall it looks stunning.

Somehow I misread that as meaning it has a micro vs no bezel, vs the image not coming all the way to the edge of the screen. They don't say how far from the edge the image is, but it seems rather redundant to go to all that trouble and still effectively have a noticeable edge. AFAIK best case scenario is about 1/8", which is the smallest bezel edge from what I've seen (CubeX).

I'm not sure the inclusion of this tech in Macbooks necessarily means it will show up in stand alone small displays anytime soon.

I'm right there with ya on glass vs soft screen surfaces though, that's one thing that has made me resistant to go to an LCD. Both my monitor and HDTV are CRT.

I believe its primarily for show, I mean there's no denying that the pictures that they showed look simply stunning with no bezel.

I would expect to see them coming to stand alone monitors sometime in the future.

There's quite a wide margin between screen edge and image there. CubeX does far better than that with their 1/8" bezel. Only thing is they make them in just 40" and 46" sizes with a 1366x768 res.

Yeah I mean as I said this is definitely not what TH2G users are wanting, That wont be coming until OLED. The name of the screen just makes it confusing.
