I give you the nVidia solution

Post by mkm »

Hi :D
I have just registered to tell you that the problem of the new nvidia driver is in the driver matrox .

The new drivers solve the problem (they came out with the model displayport).

I use win7 with 186.18 at 5040*1050

Sorry for my English...

Thanks for the heads-up, but... I still get good old "a Windows error has occurred" :| (186.18, Vista64) Maybe I need to fire up Driver Sweeper again, will try that later.

Does not work for me in Vista64. Tried Driver Sweeper as well. Lastest driver that works for me is 182.50.

The difference is that you have the 8800GTS. The custom res issue is with the 200-series cards and Vista64. If you use WinXP or an 8-series card, it works fine.

Ahhh!! OK
but before the new th2go driver the new nVidia driver doesn't work in wide mode...so I think that applies to all vga.

Sorry.

I'm about to take the Win7 dive tonight with a fresh install, a 9800 GX2, and the 186 series driver.

I'll post my results from the other side.

The 186.18 drivers give me a BSOD on boot about an unpaged something or other. I'm guessing their inclusion of stereo glasses detection is screwing things up. Not a big whoop, the only issue I've had hasn't been fixed in about 10+ revisions anyhow.

I also have 2x 295, id really like to use my monitors again, im down to just using one. any suggestions/help would be great.
