Greetings from Australia

Post by ddt »

G'day all,

great site ... trolled through here for days ... trying to get my head around all the issues with eyefinity ... and wide screen gaming before
taking the plunge .... but thanks to all the info available here ... it worked like a dream straight out of the box

My biggest fear was which adaptor ... I decided to go with a sapphire DP-VGA {no USB} version ... teamed up with 3 x 24" 1920 x 1080 BenQ monitors and an ATI 5870 {5970 on order} and the 10.2 drivers .... was reluctant ... but I through in a restore point and went to the 10.6 drivers ... still ran perfect ... have not had an issue at all ... ahhh ... nirvana at last.

What was also surprising was the amount unvalidated games that are happy running at 5760 x 1080 without issues i.e. ISI's rFactor released in 2005 ... hud is on the middle screen etc and a great frame rate with only a single 5870 .... cant wait till the 5970 rocks up ... I looked at going for the new Shappire 4gb OC toxic version ... but they like to gouge our eyes out downunder {it's so bad that guy behind the counter is the one that wears the stocking } and with a price of $1455 ... I'll pass thankyou.

Well I've waffled on long enough ...

G'day and welcome from another Aussie!

Eyefinity rocks, and you're right, the amount of games that don't support it properly is a scam, and prices in Australia are highway robbery!

Enjoy your stay!

Hello! For me it's Greenhills, literally a few streets away. We're in this area mainly because we can afford to buy a reasonable house here lol, plus right on the freeway for visiting families in Sydney.

Hooray for some sun on a weekend!

:cheers

Hey there Guys.

Good to see more Aussies ... oi, ... oi ... oi ... G'day to Newcastle .... thought the weather up there would be nice and warm Timmeh .... as for me I'm from sunny melbourne Johhnywakko ... lol ... it's so warm down here that the only thing missing are the polar bears ... brrrr

Who's had enough of the election circus? ...

the policies are so deep ... I'm voting for broadband ... and how sad is that ... lol

They have just started rolling it out where I live ... checked out the spec's .... a 1GB download took 1min 11 sec ....wahooo ... but this will turn into DOH! ... if the Libs get in ... I'm off to check out the Greens website to see where they stand on the NBN ... not keen on voting for a redhead assassin ....

On a lighter note ... checked out demo of Mafia 2 this weekend ... it's cool guys ... got a solid 40fps and it looks better than GTA IV .... been hanging out for this since the original ... and it supports eyefininty straight out of the box ...

Cheers all.
