Dua wide screen monitors and gaming

Post by cmf0106 »

I finally got my dual monitors setup, however I am having difficulty achieving the desired effect when gaming when using vista 64. I would like for the primary monitor to display my game while I am able to mouse over browse the internet, aim, etc on the secondary monitor. The problem being whenever I am running a game on the primary monitor I am unable to move over to the secondary monitor without minimizing or closing the game first, which sort of defeats the purpose. Anyone know how I might fix this?

And many thanks!

Specs are below

Intel Q9550 2.8 OC @ 3.8
Heatsink: Tuniq Tower
EVGA 780i SLI FTW
Nvidia GTX 280 x2 SLI
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 (1066 native)
SILVERSTONE OP1000-E 1000W ATX 12V 2.2 & EPS 12V
Windows Vista 64 bit

Dua wide screen monitors and gaming

That's just the way it works.

I've been using dual monitor for a couple years now, (mostly to vatch videos while i play my game) and I have yet to see a full-screen game not minimize when you click outside the game. If you run the game in a window, you can certainly do it. (on XP, anyway)

Which is for teh best, if you ask me. Imagine playing and you move you mouse too far to the side adn try to shoot, jsut to have that click register on you other screen adn minimizing your game at the same time.

I have little experience with Vista, but I'm guessing it's the same deal.

nice setup you have there. Have you considered a thrid screen adnd some triple-head goodness? This is certainly the right place for getting help on that...
