WoW with nvidia 8600gt

Post by n00blet88 »

Hello, i have nvidia 8600gt with the newest drivers.

when i installed the card earlier what ever settings i put it at every game ran great incuding WoW, but when i updated the drivers i couldnt remember the settings so now im a bit lost :/

can any one let me know how to improve the frame rate or give the best performance settings for the 8600gt from the nvidia control pannel.

Basicly WoW runs everything full except view distance at 60fps constant. but when i put on view distance it drops to about 20-30fps.

Pc specs:

amd pheneom 8450 tri core 2.1ghz
3 gigs ram
nvidia 8600gt 512mb
320gb hardrive
350watt psu

First of all, this is probably in the wrong forum, but I will leave it up to a mod to move it.

I am not sure how you could tweak your 8600gt to be better other than overclocking it or replacing it with something faster.

However, that being said, there is a reason view distance kills your FPS, by increasing the viewing distance of the game, you are telling to the game to render things that are even further away from you, as such your PC has to keep track of more objects and your graphics card has to work harder to render these far away objects instead of simply making it a fog or something similar.

I think that you had the AA and the AF settings, what you can set to let the program decide.
