Posted this in the detailed report, too

Well this is a way to play Fahrenheit/ Indigo Prophecy in true Widescreen...

Unfortunately, it is not possible for me to take screenshots... Well, if anyone know how...

Step 1. NVIDIA only... set scaling to off
Step 2. Use the bytecode hack to set a resolution which vertical part is higher than what your monitor supports (1680x1200 for a 1680x1050 monitor)
Step 3. use NVIDIA control panel to set custom resolution of 1680x1200
Step 4. Play

If the game crashes, just reload, reset the resolution to 640x480, play that part and set resolution back to custom one...

PLEASE CONFIRM

P.S. this works for Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, too in conjunction with the Ureschanger!!!

Could we get more detail on this? seems a useful information to know.

The bytecodehack I meant can be found here: [url]http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/8521]

I had to fiddle around quite a bit (mostly just to get the game running in Vista 64bit  )
What I found is quite similar to the zoom option of most Widescreen TVs.
Some newer LG monitors support this in hardware (ARC format switch)

I guess it is a crummy solution, but at least it does not depend on a game supporting widescreen.

It works with every programme...
I even tried this with DosBox... (trying to make the old Tex Murphy FMVs fill the screen...)

I mainly meant the part of displaying a res. your monitor does not support. I thought it was a more global tweak to say display 1600x1200 on a 1680x1050 screen with cut top/bottom. Not a game specific hex edit as this is.

Thanks for replying though.

Oh, it is a global tweak... But you have to inject the proper res into the game...
