Well it seems to be my system, more specifically the 2408WFP monitor. Although it works fine with the older WHQL drivers and the current GXM it won't with the latter drivers and new GXM...weird! I switched the monitors and is only that monitor that has problems, not matter which part it is plugged into l/r/centre.

So if anyone else wants to use the latest WHQL drivers for vista AND wants this new GXM tell me how to upload it and it is yours :)

Do the latest drivers get rid of the having to restart to get the GTX280 fan speed back down after gaming problem (if you were suffering that on the 177.35/41s)?

Mach1.9pants thanks a lot for that file it worked like a charm :)

But keep in mind you can't just upgrade the current GXM to this one. You need to do a complete clean of the old one. And then apply the new one.

Thanks for sharing, but for some reason 5040x1050 with 178.13 freaks my screens out...with that driver and resolution they periodically go black with a 'not optimal mode...' message bouncing around the screen, the only way to recover from which appeared to be pressing the source button (so it'd check for a signal on the VGA channel, then return to the DVI channel for a minute before freaking out again).

I get no freak-outs at 4080x768 with the 178.13 drivers. The newer GXM doesn't give 5040x1050 with 177.41, so rolling back drivers also requires rolling back GXM :x
