AMD Eyefinity Subsite
FYI, for those that are not aware there is now an Eyefinity microsite up:
http://www.amd.com/eyefinity
This site will evolve very rapidly (I'd put this at version 0.5 of the site as it is now) and we'll be updating frequently with more content.

Since L4D2 is listed, does that mean you guys fixed the crosshair and possibly repositioned the HUD?
Re: AMD Eyefinity Subsite
The game dev (valve) will need to make those types of fixes... I am sure patches to make games have native eyefinity (and general multi monitor) support will be coming out very soon as 3-panel gaming continues to pick up steam..

Very nice site. I love Eyefinity. I have had it setup since Jan and I will never go back to a single monitor ever again.

Hey there,
Do you know when/if Crossfire + Eyefinity is EVER going to WORK properly?
I noticed that there is no mention of this support in the latest 10.3 release notes (as opposed to previous release notes).
After numerous tickets to AMD tech support, my gut tells me AMD has put this in the "too hard" basket.
Thank You in Advance.

Yea the too hard basket haha that is what they told me when I called and asked about the atikmpag.sys BSOD. You would think after what 6 months they would have everything working proper by now. You think nvidia will be having this many problems 6 months from fermi release. Prolly not because they did not rush there cards out like ATI did.

I have been running two 5870 Eyefinity6 cards in CFX just fine with the 10.3 Preview and 10.3a drivers. Ran 3x1 and 3x2 monitor setups. Overall nice performance increases. Can't speak to any other configurations.

Ibrin have you tried Bad Company 2 with that setup in 3x1 and is it smooth? I run BC2 at 5760x1200 with crossfired 5870s and it is not smooth at all. The frames reported are fine but it just doesn't feel smooth. I disable crossfire and still get similar frames or maybe even a little less but it feels a lot smoother. This is with the 10.3a drivers and crossfire profiles installed. CPU is a [email protected] on a EP45-UD3P board, W7 x64.
Would also like to know your experience of having the 2GB cards in crossfire versus the 1GB cards. I'm guessing crysis would be the major beneficiary?

Will you have benches of 2x 1 GB 5870's ?

Re: AMD Eyefinity Subsite
I only have the one 1GB 5870. I guess I could put it in CFX with the E6 and that would limit the frame buffers. I could try that once I get the E6 review done.
I don't play BC2. I have a key for it from ATI, but it's hard to get a consistent reproducible benchmark other than just playing for X minutes. I might try that later, but couldn't fit it in this go-round.

Re: AMD Eyefinity Subsite
maybe this deserves its own thread... but since we're talking about xfire in this thread, I just wanted to add that the xfire stuttering in eyefinity might have to do with mobos that use two x8 PCI-E slots when doing crossfire. Could this be the problem?
Re: AMD Eyefinity Subsite
That's what I was thinking until about 2 hours ago. Popped in a 5970 today and I still have the same lagginess in BC2 and also COD4 (only games I've tested so far with it). The issue I would describe as input lag - when you move mouse to look around their is a slight delay in responsiveness. In single screen its perfect and very responsive. Also I've ensured my PCI-e slot is running at x16. This is on win7 x64 CCC 10.3 WHQL and 10.3 xfire profiles (profiles installed or not does not seem to make a difference, I guess they're already included in the 10.3s).
I'm really frustrated about this as I thought crossfire and eyefinity were working in the new games now. So now I have 2 5870s and a 5970. Need to figure out what to do with all these cards. I'm not optimistic at all about future drivers or profiles sorting this out. I get the feeling its a configuration issue, however it shouldn'e be at all considering a 5970 exhibits the same issues in eyefinity.
All I know is that a single 5870 and eyefinity has been the best experience for me so far.
UPDATE: i've tested with 2 screen eyefinity and it seems to be fine (even using my LCD with the active DP to DVI adaptor). So it seems strange to me that a third screen creates this input lag even on the lowest settings.

Too bad its full of crap.
"Note: Bezel compensation only works in Single Large Surface (SLS) mode with monitor groups that have a pixel resolution and density within a 5% tolerance of each other."
Nope, I was told directly in e-mail support from the ATI engineers that only monitors with identical part #'s are supported for bezel compensation. Hence why you can't get a 2407 that reports itself as 52x33cm to work with the 2408s and 2410s that report themselves as 52x32cm. I'm not sure who at ATI figures that telling people 5% is allowed, when it apparently isn't. I was also told they have no plans to change it. Honestly, I am pretty upset that I was promised eyefinity with bezel comp in 10.3 as long as my stuff was within 5% and then I spend 500 on a new displayport monitor and 500 on a new video card... to find out they bullcrapped me and won't back up their claim.
