==Supported resolutions==

What about 1280x768? You need to tell us whether you tested this resolution or not, and if so, what the result was.

Calculated grade: D
Potential grade: D+

Minor unresolved issues:
Are 1280x768, 1920x1080, and 1920x1200 supported?

Stretched gameplay is a blemish

CCE: 98.5%

Ah, I guess I just hoped it would have had it all set. (aside from the resolutions I could not test.)

I thought I tested it while I was doing the report, but I just did it again anyway. 1280x768 does just fine like everything else. (as fine as stretched can be).

Calculated grade: D
Potential grade: D+

Updated per your statement.

Minor unresolved issues:
Are 1920x1080, and 1920x1200 supported?

Updated, per your statement (Exemption: 1280x768)

Stretched gameplay is a blemish
CCE: 98.5%

Updated, per your statement.

===EDIT===
Changed notification regarding FMVs being Anamorphic. Thanks for the help on making my first report a good one guys!

Stretched image... That's a pity. :( The Emergency games are all about nightmarish micro-management of large-scale catastrophes, but the graphics are sweet and clean (like in most german games, everything looks like Heller model kits :lol: ) so widescreen support would have been great, if not a lot for gameplay, at least for our viewing pleasure.

Thanks for doing this DR, it reminds me I must add the Fire Chief (EU : Fire Dept) series to my to-do list :)

I came in on Emergency 3 through Gametap (which prevented me from doing any testing on there since all the files are encrypted.) Really good, then I saw that they had EM4, which is also 911:F.R. and figured "what the hell". If you happen to grab this game, grab the LA Mod too. :)

you can change FOV in ini file i think

I've just had a look at the ini again, (this time with a better notepad editor, hooray for Notepad++) there are two entries that deal with FOV:

Code: Select all

      <var name="r_fov" value="350" />
      <var name="r_ds_fovscale" value="1" />

I'll play with them tonight and see if I can find anything definitive.

Update:

Code: Select all

      <var name="r_fov" value="350" />

Seems to limit how far back you can pull the camera from the playfield, not an adjustment to an aspect ratio. Higher number seemed to be a tighter restriction.

Code: Select all

      <var name="r_ds_fovscale" value="1" />

Didn't seem to have any change.

== Surround Gaming Support ==

TH info based on the german demo of Emergency 4. Same method (cfg edit) required for TH resolutions. As mentioned by Freyar in the previous post, nothing in the cfg file ever affects the FOV.

Stretched gameplay.

Might be a late response, but 1920x1080 is working nicely as well.
