Hi !

Thank you for this forum,

I'm Sebastien from Belgium, 30 years old. I just discovered pc games, and wanted to check the results with a large triple screen on Colin McRae, but I can not configure it right with Soft TH:

Sorry I could not find ''games readme'' for this gama.

I have 22" 16/10 in the middel (1960x1050), and 19" 4/3 each sides (1280x1024).

But my render is horizontal stretched (or car is plate :) )

I managed to get a 4390x1050 resolution working, but cannot render the good picture size.

Is this well a solution that can help me, because I cannot apply it:

I tried to add as this +- , but no way , computer tell to me: ' Names specified is not valid in the Target field. Please check acces way and file name are right. ''

"C:Program FilesCodemastersColin McRae Rally 2005CMR5.exe"-WIDESCREENDISPLAY

Or I do not understand something, or maybe because of vista ?

I'm not sure this fix will help for TripleHead ... apart from that ...

What is wrong with your target line is there should be a space before the ... -WIDESCREENDISPLAY bit ...

"C:Program FilesCodemastersColin McRae Rally 2005CMR5.exe" -WIDESCREENDISPLAY

NOT ...

"C:Program FilesCodemastersColin McRae Rally 2005CMR5.exe"-WIDESCREENDISPLAY

Hi !

Thank you for your answe, it seems I'm a very stupid guy and did not check it ( I was sure about..) and it works !

But this seems not to be solution to my problem, when I run the game I still have same problem, my picture is stretched, here is a picture to illustrate the render... (car is plate)

When I'm right this is a 'bezels' problem (?)

Don't discount em that way, they coulda got you with 8500gt's. Besides they're an easy way to get decent video power in total silence, they're the fanless parts right?

At one point I had figured to get 2 8600gt myself, partly to test if my current cards are unable to function in sli and partly to reduce pc noise.

From what I looked up they should perform close to or sometimes a bit better then an 8800gt so they should last you some time to come still.

Are you asus promotor ?

:D

Sure I did not complain for my usual use, ''webmaster'', it is well enough :)

I also think asus is great. I only had many problems with the shop where I bought my install.. I paid so much money, (+so dishonest)would not even compare with dollars...

But I read test I think that 8800 is 2 or 3 x more powerfull than 8600gt.

Sure it is perfect noiseless, no fan, really important, + great ai suite asus, I can make my computer powerfull without any noise and very stable temperature I think.

About card, normal is 135-140° following extern temperature, I could reduce 5° on the first one, with asus not moterboard compatible ventilo (second ventil was stole by the shop.. I complained enough, justice now, they make me loose time and money enough..) , 145° when running a movie, 160°-165° when running a game (I suppose it depends which game, no experience to test..)

I could put faercry full option on 1680 x 1050, I will now test full 3 screens :D

But I'mm still very desappointed about McRae, I can see on dirt Mcrae they are playing normal size.. and my car is still so plate, I search a lot hours, I can not find solution if it exists.

seblacour,

No I'm not an asus promoter, in fact, after the crap they've given me for support I'm never buying another asus product again.

Not only do they not read what you send and simply reply with 'call us'
with a long distance number. But they end up finding all sorts of excuses just to get you off their inbox.

after hours again and many bugs and trying all options, no way to get a normal resolution , my car always so plate.

I understand not to bug so often I first have to put my screens in the windows (ultramon) set up as I want it in the game, I could put a 680x680x680 or a 680x848x680 width (best but not good), (or 1280x1680x1280)
But results is still the same, with options -WIDESCREEN or -MULTIDISPLAY3 or -height-.. widht-...

I also check 1920*480 rersolution to remain under total 1920 width;

I think it is finally not possible,

Here is my soth th config, if someone has an idea to check:

;
; SoftTH configuration file
; by Kegetys
; working cmr5 cfg

[config]
deviceIDLeft=2
deviceIDright=1
secondaryWidth=640
secondaryHeight=480
secondaryRefresh=auto
secondaryFormat=YUV12
antialiasing=0
anisotropic=0
borderSize=0
sideExtraWidth=-208
noHotkeys=0

[Direct3D]
cylindicalCorretionAngle=0
hideNondefaultDevices=1
forceHorizontalFOV=0
forceResolutionWidth=2128
forceResolutionHeight=480
force16bitDepth=0
sleepBeforeRead=2
useMultihead=1
delayedPresent=0
swapOrder=0
autoSquash=0
d3d8dll=auto

[hooks]
doHooking=1
doScaleMouseCoordinates=1
doScaleFromLeftScreen=0
doScaleWindowRects=0
mouseXoffset=auto

[modes]

848x480x60
848x480x75
848x480x85
640x480x60
640x480x75
640x480x85
auto

I tried farcry, unfortunately I loose so much details, it is not really possible to play, or maybe is not my computer powerfull enough, or maybe did I not set it up right (but I made many test also)
I loose my target point... some bugs... seems to be beter on 1 screen. Do you think this is because of my graphic card is limited ?

I download dirt McRae demo, it seems thes games should be possible to set right size on 3 screens, after all my test, I still have not very good results :(
