Can't find the SWAT4 ini. file it asks you to look for and change. Anyone have a clue to where it is.

Here is the link that has the details. Also members in my group could not find it either. Could be that we are old and blind or getting their. Any help would be appreciated.

NOTE: Swat4.ini and Swat4X.ini will not exist if you have not run the game yet.

Ok not to sound stupid which I am not but I can't find the ini.file. Played the game in SP and MP both games and nothing. Where and what does the file look like if it does not say ini.file. I have never had a hard time like this trying to find a file so please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Let us start as far back as possible to avoid confusion.

The file is located in the actual game folders not in the Documents and Settings folder.

Find the drive you installed the game in and the find the folder for the game.

In that folder is another folder named "Content" and in that folder is another folder called "System". In that "System" folder is the file "Swat4.ini".

1. Can you find the System folder?

2. If so, is the file present? If not, take a pic of your desktop in the "System" folder.


You may also want to make sure hidden files are visible in folder options. Although not mentioned in the DR, the file may have the hidden property.

I found this in a list of things.


Init: Swat4.ini is out of date or missing, using Default.ini instead


Could be the reason why I can't find the file.

You could try two things.

Copy the default ini to the swatini location and rename it.

Try and change the resolution in the default ini and see if it works.
