Isn't it an amazing coincidence that all of those games have popular multiplayer modes? And that enjoyment of multiplayer modes is seriously hampered by not having a legal copy? I don't think that's a coincidence at all.
For the record, Half Life doesn't have a multiplayer mode, its' separate.

I'm saying that pirating games to see if they're worth the money to actually purchase IS a valid statement to make

For the most part, it isn't. In your specific case, if Oblivion is the *only* game you pirated, and if you would have downloaded a demo instead if one was available, then it might work. But that case just doesn't apply to most self-justifying pirates.
....No.

No one seems to understand this.

I'm saying that pirating them to see if they're worth the money is a VALID (key word, VALID) statement to make, not a justified one.

So much for not talking about piracy. For those playing who's where? I've put about 10 hours into it...my first 2 hours I was rather unimpressed...but they've put together an amazing plot...if my pc could run it higher that would be a little nicer...but over all....I like it. (enough to buy it...whenever its suppose to be out)

It has been out.

Feel free to inform us when you purchase it.

I got my original game now :-). I have read, that Crysis is first game of the trilogy

Cevat: The game is designed as a trilogy, so you have two more installments to come and the ending is planned deliberately. But I cannot answer any more questions here please as we want to keep some surprises for you all.

For the record, it does.

Furthermore, if you bought the game way back when it was available in stores, you can enter the CD key into Steam and get both expansions and several multiplayer games for free, including Counter-Strike 1.6 and Team Fortress Classic.

I'm not sure I see the big distinction. It's a justification that's a statement. If it's an invalid justification, then I would think of it as an invalid statement too.

Ma bad, thinking of HL2

Not necessarily.

I'm saying that it is possible to state that and have it make sense. Even if it may not be justified, it DOES make logical sense.

The justification of things that are widely debatable is often a moral one, which makes it impossible to state that a moral justification (which is highly debatable itself) can directly cause a statement to be altered.

Why does no one understand what it is I'm saying?

That it is...as soon as I finished it (just beat it) they set it up for the second one. I'm wishful in hoping 2 years we'll see another one...or maybe EA will do episodes? Not sure.

Great game however. I wonder how the multiplayer part fairs.

If they execute episode production like Valve does, I certainly hope not.
But Crysis was worth waiting for, post-Far Cry. I'm sure the next one will be worth a three-year wait as well.

We are suffering currently from the huge piracy that is encompassing Crysis

I believe we won't have PC exclusives as we did with Crysis in future

Ya know, if there's one thing piracy has done. It's given us a way to split the good from the bad developers.

e.g.: the lazy(crytek) blame pirates for their buggy overpriced trash and the good(stardock) thrive without even putting up any copy protection ...

Piracy ain't good, but it's here to stay, best advice to developers? stop annoying users and it'll be less of a problem for you.

You're not gonna win sales by screwing our systems, and we are the ones paying you.

Sounds to me like you're rationalizing after the fact by attributing "bad" to a dev who failed and "good" to a dev that succeeded. The overwhelmingly positive reception of Crysis does *not* suggest to me at all that it's "buggy overpriced trash." A more objective observation on the differences would be that Crysis is a big budget game and Sins of a Solar Empire is a low budget game. Crysis sold a lot more copies than Sins, so it's really a fallacy to suggest that Sins' comparative success has anything to do with things Stardock did that you perceive as having generated more sales. Compared to Crysis, they didn't.

You're not gonna win sales by screwing our systems, and we are the ones paying you.

How do you figure Crytek is screwing our systems?
