The Customized Resolution in Vista, how to use that in game?

Did a search before I wrote this post.

Old Sharp 37", with no native resolution (1366x768) in its EDID. Been using nvidia since dx10, waited ages for the "customized resolution" to reappear in control panel. But then all games still won't include the 768p res. in the option!! So I'm forced to run at 720p.

I know Vista is a pain if you don't tune it, and its "limitations" on signed driver, unchangeable EDID in registry...

Anyway, is there a way to force any game to run at customized res in Vista?

And is Win7 more gamer friendly?
