Halo is overhyped. Fun.. but not too varied.

cheesey that it runs slow and not in true 1080 - a surprise.

Yay for PC's

agreed. I personally Think Mass Effect will destroy it for the box...but the halo fanbase is more loyal I prefer to think.

No 360 games run in true 1080p as far as I'm aware......

Still a great game though :D

The first blurb I saw of it on the news last night Gates was walking along the huge line of customers waiting to buy it shaking their hands at a local store here in Seattle.

While they were showing this the reporters on the news station were commenting that those whom had bought the Limited Edition version were upset that the discs were scratched.

Apparently in all their tech genius they left the bare disc floating around in the tin box container as if to render it pre-antiqued. Now isn't that the Microsoft customer service we've all come to know and loathe.

Though MS is offering to replace the damaged discs, I had to laugh when they commented it's only a small portion of all the discs shipped, as if those paying $70 for the Limited Edition are an afterthought.

All this and the PC version is Vista only, another big whoop de doo since 33% of those using Vista don't even like it. Can anyone relate, I'm embarrassed to live in this town sometimes?

The only real games on the 360 that run in true/native 1080p are Virtual Tennis 3 and NBA: Street Home Court. There is also some arcade games I believe.

For all the other games its just upscaled to 1080p. Every single game I have played upscales to 1080p and runs fine... some seem to scale better then others though.

I read about Halo 3 being in true 1080p and at 60fps... but I knew it probably wasn't going to happen. I did hope they would do it though... but meh its still upscaled like the rest.

Me too, thought it must have been some PC trickery. After I read it though I wasn't surprised that college rivalries would inspire them to go to such lengths.

I wonder when they're caught if they'll get an A+ in art class!

If there is an art class in Harvard, Console games are not considered to be an art, so this would probably be considered as disorderly conduct, not as an act of artistic genius.

In this case the art is merely a statue representation of a video game character, so not the same thing as 3D graphics. Though it was meant more figuratively than literally, Harvard does indeed have art classes, including "Public Art".

Don't a lot of US colleges have histories of imaginitive rivalries?

Of course they do, and I really respect this type of venting vs hazing, trash talking, and other violent attacks. At least it involves some creative talent and skill. You're never going to be able to stop rival universities and colleges from pulling pranks. You can only hope to keep the ones they pull fairly civilized and nonviolent.

MIT students pulling a prank on Harvard, part of their whole rivalry thing.

This was rather my point - rivalries where they're outright nasty or destructive I think are bad. But when they're humorous and inventive, how is it a bad thing? ;)

Then again how is MS wanting to bundle Media Player with their OS bad? Some powers that be do make a big deal out of such things, but it's mostly just to keep it from getting out of control. In this case it certainly is defacing public property and a time honored landmark no less.

No matter how they try though, discipline is one of the hardest things to teach to a college age student. As I implied though I see this as more amusing than serious and such venting is actually necessary at times with kids this age. Certainly better than a shooting spree any day.
