It's hor +, and not stretched 16:9 either, though the HUD does stretch.

I find that the most foolproof way of determining if two screenshots are hor + or not is to resize the images so that both have the exact same height, and then use the default WinXP picture viewer to flip back and forth between the two. If they are hor + and without any tricks or peculiarities, it will be immediately obvious.

Is it just me or do those screens look like crap?

I think my screens do look like crap. I think it has a lot to do with me changing the image from the default .bmp to .jpg for bandwidth purposes.
I do have all detail max, but I didn't force AA or AF (since this console port doesn't provide these options in-game).
I do think the game looks much better while your playing it as opposed to these ugly screens.
