Should I give up and reload XP?

Post by smann »

Before I got my TripleH2go I upgraded to Vista, have tried alot of the tips here. I loaded the beta powerdesk and the 5040x1050 shows up and will load fine but FSX just locks up and black screen with any movement, all desktop programs work fine. I have the latest driver for my gtx285. I loaded vista so I could recognise the 4g of ram. Is XP a pretty sure bet if I reformat back?

XP is a sure bet, however your FSX problem (in the other thread) has been solved so why switch back?

Try some other games and see if they work.

Gotcha, what you mean to say is that can I play FSX at 5040 using Vista or should I switch back to XP!
I haven't tried FSX in Vista only XP and have no probs. IIRC some other people have got it working in Vista, but I maybe wrong. maybe change the thread title to see who has been successful with what OS at 5040 playing FSX :)

I use FSX for keeping my skills current and I've used it in 5040x1050 on XP x32, XP x64, and Vista x64 with no problems whatsoever.

I'm planning on trying the Windows7 RC once it's available since I'm a MSDN TechNet subscriber. I'll post back on my experience once I get that rig set up.
