L4D res issues ...

Post by Greenparot »

Can't seem to be able to select 5040x1050 resolution in the game, and when I specify the resolution on the launch options I get a "cannot create D3D Device".

Works fine windowed on middle monitor with no border, just not on 3 monitors (windowed or fullscreen).

Any ideas or hints?

Presumably you can select or use 5040 in other games yeah?
L4D (all Source games?) put the 5040 res in the 16:9 dropdown menu, did you look there? There should be 2 other aspect ratio res options (4:3 and 16:10) too, its not in them.

Thanks, I'll check it out more when I get home.

I performed the steps listed on your link: [url]http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/9741]

But, have yet to try out any games other than L4D after doing so. If my other games don't work that used to (WoW, WAR, etc...) then I bet it's a driver issue and not game-related.

Okay, I selected the correct aspect ratio in game and was able to select 5040x1050.

Problem is, when I select 5040 the screens go black and flicker where I can see the desktop for just a second or so. Needless to say, I have to ctrl+alt+delete and am back to playing on one monitor.

WoW, WAR, and all the other non-source games run perfect at 5040 on nVidia 180.48 driver...=(
