New to forum, after suggestions?

Hey guys,

I've recently picked up a widescreen notebook, and eager to get back into PC gaming after years on a console. I'm new to this widescreen stuff, not new to ini/registry changes, hex editing, etc.

Laptop runs a native res of 1280x800, and as such, stretched 1024x768 games look awful. Thankfully a lot of newer games support this res anyway.

My current attempt is The Punisher (I checked - not on your site already, and a forum search has not come up with any results). No ini files to speak of, registry seemed like it would work with the following keys:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareTHQThe Punisher]
"Resolution Width"=dword:00000400
"Resolution Height"=dword:00000300

-- 400 being hex for 1024, 300 being hex for 768.

I changed these to 500/320 to suit my native res, but the game locked up on startup.

Any thoughts on this one? .. or is it one of those tired with no success titles.
