Hey there guys. Long time lurker, first time poster.
I picked up a TH2G on ebay and it works fine. I'm on the edge of upgrading to a new computer after using the one i'm on now for about 3 years. Current stats are:
2.8 GHz intel w/ HT
1024 megs of PC400 DDR ram
GeForce 6600 (256mb) AGP
Windows XP - SP1
I find that TH2G works fine for almost anything at reduced resolution and lower settings, and even though i have 3 different brands of monitors the display is alright. I originally had an ATI X800 card but i swapped that out with my friends 6600 for the obvious ATI pixel restriction reasons.
So of course, i'm in the process of getting everything i can to work on my current rig before i cough up the dough to get my next computer. Most everything is alright, but SimCity 4 is giving me some pains. Well, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is as well, but one step at a time!
SimCity 4 spans correctly as per the SGU's edited parameters, but there are some pretty bad glitches
This is at 2400x600 with pretty much everything turned down to its lowest setting. I've tried using different settings for the "draw speed" option, to no avail. I've run the game at 3072x768 as well, and it has the same glitches but runs slower. Interestingly, at 1900x480, there is no bleeding, but the game is unreasonably huge and blurry. This has lead me to believe that it may be a simple issue of the card not being able to pump out enough pixels...
Now after all of that, here's my question: Has anyone else had this problem when running SC4 in software mode? Also, is there any way possible to get SC4 to work with TH2G in hardware mode?
If this gives me too much more grief, i think i'll work on rollercoaster tycoon 3 next. either that or i'll play some Call of Duty 2 with that nifty FOV patch!
