I dont find that there are scaling issues I can't live with. I went for 3x24" LG monitors and they handle the scaling well..

I can't use the 1440x900 resolution because I have never been able to get it to show up :( I do notice thatthe monitor comes up as standard pnp so I can't get the monitor driver going. This leaves me with some resolution x 800 but it seems ok.

Have mostly been play gtr evo. I find the trackir still adds value but I move the sensitivity down. IL@ isn't too good because you look up / down all around and things dont line up well enough across monitors which is a shame..

I thought yesterday I would make a monitor mount as they were all just sitting on thier stands next to each other on some MDF.

$30 worth of steel and I welded this up yesterday.. it should free up my space a bit... Its a bit of a mess at the mo, I will post another pic once its set up..

The g clamps are to find the right positions before I drill..

Thats pretty neat and cheap too. I tried seting my centre monitor back on the desk but couldn't cope with it for desktop work though games were fine.

Im a mac guy so this is only used for games. I found setting the center behind made the overall bezel thinner so it looked better.

In games you don't notice it at all.. Now I am watching paint dry..

That definitely gives me some ideas for a desk design. I might try that out as a machine shop project. I need an excuse to work on my mig welding skills anyways. Guess I need to buy some visa mount brackets from monoprice. Sure, Ergotron stands are nice, but this is sturdier and you can design a custom desk to go with it. :)

Hi Ghimpi, yep its a pretty simple project as far as welding goes.. I cut a mitre on the bandsaw for the two end monitors and the rest was simple..

Here is the connector I made up to go on to the vesa bracket. Just some angle plate welded on to a piece of bar.. With the g clamps I can move it around until I find the best place and then drill it..

You can't actually see the g clamps when its set up. I may just keep them clamped because it is simple to move the monitor position if I ever need to.

I did make a measuring mistake and the monitors are 5.5cm (2") taller then they should be. That makes a big difference when looking at them so I will need to rectify.

I decided rather than lower the monitors which would be dificult without cutting thing up I would raise the seat and desk component.

I have been meaning to do this anyway. It's all done just waiting to assemble for tomorrow morning. Will post a final piccy when done.

managed to get the rest done...

As the monitor stand was too high I put the whole thing on a base.. This is good because I dont have to get right down on the floor anymore. I made the base an appropriate height dictated by spare wood I had lying about from a never done project.

Of course I then needed to raise the monitor stand a bit but its much easier to put some mdf underneath then chop my stand up.

Once that was done I needed to create a top that matched things a little better so a bit more chopping and I think I will leave it as as after this..

Unfortunately one of the pictures shows a cable underneath the center monitor. Better clean that up! All the cables run down the back on the monitor stand legs so you dont see them..

So after a month with the th2go I reckon I have now set them up properly :) I also drilled a hole under the wheel so the cabled are routed there, not on the table top.

Really nice little setup there. Looks like its pretty dedicated to racing. Whats your favorite racing game?

I wish they would re-do Wipeout XL for PC ^^ that would be crazy on a triple wide.

At the moment I am playing GTR evolution as it usually has people online for our timezone , New Zealand, which is GMT +12hrs.

I joined iracing but every time I tried to get in there were no people on in any sessions. I guess they have a big audience in the US an maybe europe but I dont think I want to race at 5am in the morning..

I also like flight simming, usually IL2, not so much general aviation but here is a picture of a setup I built a while ago prior to it being finished.

For IL2 I usually put my HOTAS on each side with consoles that are not current attached.

Thats my 30" in the pic below. I would still prefer to use it with IL2 and track ir but its a bit difficult to manage 4 monitors on one desk!

I think I like building the stuff as much as using it, heres another I built, only one scrren though :), this only took a couple of weekends.

I tried IL2 once when I got my joystick to fly choppers in BF2 and man I couldn't figure out anything...

I liked FS2004 though, and I had a deluxe copy of FSX I never opened as when I had it my computer was not up to snuff to play it so I sold it.
