TH2G Should i bother??

For a while now, i've been lusting after a TH2G setup
The thing is I currently have a single X1950 on a DFI crossfire board and as I upgraded to my current mobo/GFX card a little over a month ago, there's no chance of me making the switch to an SLI setup until probably this time next year.
So, a couple or three questions....

Is 2400x600 resolution limit in Crossfire mode only, or will i still have the same limit with my single x1950?
Is it worth the expense to use TH2G on an X1950 setup, knowing that you're esentially looking at 800x600 (Fugly) per screen.
If the 2400x600 resolution limit is Crossfire mode only, what happens if i get a dual core x1950?

The X1950 has a max res of ... 2400 x 600 ... SLi of not ... :(

So ... it all depends on what you think of 800x600 ... x3 ...
