Another R6 Vegas problem
Another R6 Vegas problem
Hi all,
I know this has been asked before, but when I checked the link was broken, so sorry for having to ask again.
I have tried to put R6 Vegas into widescreen using both the .bin files and squizzy's patcher, but whenever I load the game the screen becomes transparent with a yellowish tinge to everything, regardless of what resolution I set (I am trying for 1360 x 765).
Any idea what causes this? The last thread referred to a post on the official Ubi forum, but that seems to have been taken down.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Another R6 Vegas problem
Hello welcome to the WSGF ... 8)
I have found people that get transparent graphics in R6 Vegas are usually running a resolution that is not correct for there screen ... are you sure your screen does ... 1360 x 765 ?
Is your desktop at the res you are trying to use in the game ?
Does this transparency happen even without a widescreen hack ... i.e. using a 4:3 resolution from within the game ?

Thanks for replying!
The game works fine in other resolutions (apart from being stretched) - the transparency only happens when choosing a widescreen res.
My desktop and all other games are set to 1360 x 765 (it only works in 765, not 768 for some reason) and none of them have any problems.
All my drivers and DirectX are up-to-date, if that helps!
Thanks very much!

I have no idea why it isn't working for you ...
Any resolution you try to run the game in that your desktop can't do will probably result in the transparency thing.
Are you able to set up custom resolutions for your desktop ?
If you are ... try setting one to 1360x768.
The madmos5y rar file doesn't have the res of 1360x768 ... did you find one somewhere else ?
If you don't have one for that res try PM'ng madmos5y to see if he will add that res for you.
Also ... try PM'ing Squizzy's and point him to this thread ... may be he can help ...

Thanks for the replies!
Squ1zzy's new patcher solved the problem, so it's working perfectly well now.
Thank you for all the help you have offered, this site really is one of the best resources out there. Keep up the excellent work!

1680x1050, however, it also will not allow the in games default of 1600x1200 without getting the transparent image going on :(

Actually, I don't remember!! but if I did get some with my monitor then I did install them. However, I did install some software for my monitor for keeping my own personal settings...

Hmmmm ... I'm not sure but ...
So far I have found that everyone that has had this problem has been trying to do a res their monitor can't do ...
So based on what you have said so far I'm now thinking it must be your monitor drivers ...
It could also be that the software for keeping your settings is messing things up.
Check to see if you have your monitor drivers installed ...
Try disabling or removing that software for keeping your settings ...
