Yes it wil work with ati and the good news with softh and 2 at icard is that you are not limited by max ati's resolution as you are with th2g from matrox.

Softh works very well but i got one issue with rfactor :

When i launch the game with softh , when i activate the "mouse look" ingame, the view get crazy and turn around quickly and non stop...
when i set a one monitor setup i don t have this issue , so i can not use freelook and my triple screen at the same time with rfactor.. i l tryh with lock on to ensure if it isn't a softh issue or a rfactor one... does someone have this problem with rfactor?

second thing is il2 1946 , it s not compatible with softh, does someone knows another softwware solution that works with il2?

Just to let everyone know, I am playing WoW on 3 22" Widescreens at 1680x1050. Later though I actually lowered the resolution because my 8800 Gts 320mb only supplies me with a FPS of 11, and I am not sure if its because I have an 8400 GS in the other slot, or because that other slot is a x4 and not a x8 or x16.... But nonetheless, the resolution can go pretty damn high...

Not to mention, the experience is one of a kind.

The only thing I am having trouble with is the Border option. Everytime I set a value for it, it will crash. Oh well.

Greetings! (long time WSGF reader for fixes/hacks/etc)

I recently built a new pc and while games ran faster, it wasn't such a big deal or difference. How could I make my pc gaming superior to console gaming??? (besides mouse and keyboard)...then I realized I already had two 22" widescreens around the house and just needed one more to try out the Matrox TripleHead2Go...then I saw they were $300 for the digitial edition...hmmm...

Then I google'd and found SoftTH, and I figured it would be a "try before you buy" look at triplehead gaming.

I am pleased to report that while it is daunting at first, once you learn the settings that work for your pc, getting a dx8 or dx9 game to work is quite fun, and some games that I already played thru once, like Call of Duty 2 and 4, I am now replaying them and the triplewide experience is a vast improvement. The tank battles in COD2 are amazing now, and I often play those levels over again at the hardest difficulty.

Also, Lost Planet is many more times fun with the ultra-widescreen, some of the levels have so much chaos going on it helps to have the expanded view.

Note: I have disabled SLI (the only game that NEEDED SLI is Crysis, other games run at 60+ FPS) and use the two 8800GT's with SoftTH (I also have an older ATI pc card for when I enable SLI to drive the 2nd and 3rd monitors (for desktop only, not SoftTH) as SLI disables multi-monitor output on the 8800GT's).

One thing SoftTH would benefit from greatly is a game grid like WSGF has, I am trying to post my working setups and workarounds below:

My results so far:

Perhaps one day WSGF will add to the "Surround Support" section both Matrox and SoftTH links to working posts.

From some forums ive read about SoftTH, you dont have to have the first two monitors on the same card and the third on the second, you can have the primary on one monitor and the other two on the second card. which leaves it to believe taht you could run SLI and push the first monitor and then use your second card to push the others...now currently using SoftTH with an 8800GT and a nvidia quaddro, I would recommend getting a decent second card to push the other monitors. Maybe like an 8600GTS or something...you can pick those up now a days for 60 bucks...

For me having a quadcore and 2 8800 GT's, the only game that requires SLI to run smootly is Crysis. So running the three monitors off my two 8800GT's gives me the best possible performance imho, as I can run Call of Duty 4 at 3840x1024 with max details and the nVidia control panel set to Max Quality.

I have the center monitor on the first 8800GT as it's drawing 32bit color, and the left and right on the second 8800GT as it's drawing 16bit (YUV12) color.

Once you enable SLI in XP, you cannot use any other video display output from an nVidia card, SLI forces output from only one video connector. I tried with a PCI nVidia 6200 and it with it installed, I could not even enable SLI.

I can get a very old ATI Rage 128 pci working (as it uses a different driver) but it would not be good for SofTH driving the left and right monitors.

Supposedly in Vista, you can get SLI 8800's and a pci (or pci-e) nVidia card working, but I tried it again with the 6200 and couldn't get it to work.

For now, very very happy with the 8800's in non-SLI mode with SoftTH...may get a TripleHead2Go down the line, but then again, with SoftTH I can enable larger than 3840x1024 ( 3 x 1680 x 1050) on a few titles and you can't do that with a TH2G (yet).
