Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good combat/action flight sim that works well with triple head to go and free track?

heres what i've tried

1: blazing angels: after fiddling with toca edits FOV hack it looks good with three monitors and appeals to my action stunts needs, but not being able to use a joystick properly (its designed for game pads) completely ruins the game for me.

2: lock on modern air combat: spans three monitors but seems to be vert- Also seems to be a bit hard core spot-enemy-on-radar-fire-missles-fly-back-to-base for my tastes

3: Armed Assault: Spans three monitors correctly, i like flying the helos around but its not a real flight sim

4: IL2 sturmovik: didnt have three monitors at the time, was too hard core for me realy, but perhapse with practice

ideally I would like to get crimson skies working, this is the best flight sim ever in my view, stunts, dogfighting, action. However If you think hard core sims are the best and im just playing them wrong then please feel free to post your advice on how to get into them.

i've seen videos of a helicopter mod for lock on working on three screens, that looked good.

Lock On is somewhat vert-, but there are adjustments that can be made to make it a bit better. With TrackIR it's not that bad, because you can move your eyepoint around and see what you need to see. Have you used the cockpit zoom out function?

The "helicopter mod" you saw for Lock On is not a mod at all. It is a new sim based on a devlopment on the Lock On engine, and it will be called Digital Combat Simulation: Black Shark. It will be the most detailed helicopter simulator ever made. It's probably too hardcore for you, since it sounds like you're looking for something lighter and more accessible.

Have you tried the Strike Fighters series? These include Strike Fighters: Project 1, Wings Over Vietnam, and Wings over Europe. These are lighter flightsim fair, and all support triplehead natively with the latest patches. They are also open-architecture games which results in a great deal of third-party aircraft, objects, and missions.
