X3 reunion released on steam

Post by urban1 »

Just purchased and downloaded X3 reunion from steam

comes fully patched and best thing is no starforce :)

anyway has native support for triple head resolution, just select 3840*1024
in game options

works great and is smooth, i only have a single 7800gt

not sure if the fov changes though, but it looks alright to me

As far as I know, the FoV is a Hor+/Vert- combination.
And notice the mini-monitors... they're squashed. But who looks at those things anyway

X3 reunion released on steam

hello!

while searching for a widescreen monitor, i found this page and 'fell in love' with TH2go. :D

this topic is quite old, but i would also like to see some screenshots before i buy a TH2go.

this game isnt the newest, but my system isnt either (6600GT, Athlon 3200+, 2x512MB Corsair)

so please can someone provide a few screenshots of X3 ?!?

thanks a lot!

I agree - look pretty sweet! When playing do you notice the distorted shapes of the planets much (oval rather than spherical)...?

No ... not really because the distortion is in your peripheral vision ... you should be looking at the centre screen ... where the action is just as with your actual vision.

Those triplehead screenshots are amazing.

I bought this through steam and I cannot, for the life of me, get a controller to work well with this game. I don't really want to play a space sim with mouse and keyboard. It doesn't let me map my Logitech Wingman Rumblepad's throttle.

To Gabbo:

The throttle in this game is odd. E.g. on my Saitek X52 the throttle is not the main throttle, but the precision slide instead, and the direction of the axes is swapped (push forward is slowing down ship).

A workaround would be, to map the two button for increasing and declíning speed (x/y resp. y/a) to two buttons on the gamepad. For this game good enough, I think.

X3 reunion released on steam

I just bought the game today through steam but I keep getting an error when trying to start the game up. This is what the screen looks like when the error occurs:

For that particular instance my options were set to 3840x1024 and full screened. But it appears that this error happens even when trying to run at any full screened resolution. The only way for me to get the game running at the moment is to run the game in windowed mode. : (

Does anybody know what I can do to fix this? I did some googling and most of the people who get this error have subpar video cards or needed to update their drivers. Well I updated my drivers and still no luck.

EDIT (some hours later)

More in depth googling has me finding out that the game doesn't like AA levels to be above 4. And sure enough when I set AA levels at 4 the game starts up just like it should. BTW the game worked in windowed mode because AA is disabled when the game is run in a window.

Is there a chance someone could do a Detailed Report on X3? With this new patch, it seems to be a title worth having.
