I read this whole thread awhile ago. Now I can't remember. The current download that was offered will allow people to play offline at a LAN party, correct?
... yes providing you don't use Punkbuster ... but not with the latest patch for BF2.

I thought manufacturers and retailer software houses etc etc went on the principle the “Customer is always right” so they produce what the customer wants they get rich and we are happy. However even though the majority of BF2 players want or don’t mind if wide screen is supported, we don’t have the choice. Surely the simple solution would by a wide screen option support box in the under the filter options. Everyone can choose and is happy :D .

Given the infrequent posting in this thread, I assume a working widescreen solution for Battlefield 2 v1.41 is pretty much dead. I know there aren't as many online players as before, but I still love playing this game. I mostly play it in co-op mode at LAN parties so the lack of online support isn't a deal breaker for me. But I don't want to have to roll my game back to an earlier version. Racer_S, we still need you! Do you have any time or interest in pursuing this project further? :cry:
I haven't bought BF 2142. Does it have any better support for widescreen gaming or are DICE/EA still living in fantasy land? 8)
there was this huge uproar of people saying 2142 was nothing more than a mod for bf2 and not a new game so why should they pay for it :P
it may as well be a mod, but it is a new game.
id like to have some servers dedicated for WS players, but that means no PB, and that means most probably the only people that will fill the server will be cheaters. If it was a private server it would probably be empty too often, and people may still cheat anyways.
