WS options for HL2:ep2/Portal/TF2

Hi there,

I have a question regarding the WS support for HL2:ep2/Portal/TF2

I have a fairly old rig... 6800GT with A64-3200. It runs ok @ 1024*768 resolution for HL2 ep2.

However, i have a Dell 24" (2407) monitor. When i tried to switch to Wide Screen (16:10) option, they only have 1600*1000 or 1920x1200 options to choose from.

At 1600*1000, my machine barely runs with that high resolution. Is there anyway i can turn to lower res? Like, 1280x720, 1280x768 or 1280x800 and maintain the 16:10 ration??

I tried the edit the short cut (-width xxxx -height xxxx) way, it returns to the default 4:3 ration and 800*600 resolution when the game boots up.

Any one can help me out here ??

Please don't make the same post in 2 different places!

To answer your question, can you set the resolutions you desire as your desktop res? I'm guessing not, so you'll have to go into the nVidia Control panel and add "Custom Resolutions". See this thread if you need help doing that.

After the desired resolution is entered, you should be able to select it ingame with the drop down box (make sure the other is set to 16:10)
