COD2 (Call of Duty 2) 1920x1200 HELP!!!

Greetings, I am seeking a soltuion to play COD2 @ my native 1920x1200. Can anyone PLEASE help me... I'm new here, and COD2 is giving me a huge headache. :(

Hi and welcome to the forum. The master games list only includes the demo but I could choose 1920*1200 in the menu in the full game last time I tried iirc. Have you done any recent changes since the cod2 install? New hardware?

And this thread is in the wrong section so expect a mod edit :D

yes, I JUST got a new X1900XT. So I'm hyped about playing the game in my 1920x1200 native!

You say you can do 1920x1200 just in options??? Thats odd, the highest I see is 1600x1200.

Well I added the "iirc" :D :wink:

It's been a long time since I tried it and had it installed but if noone else answer in a timely fashion I'll get on it again and find out.

Cranky has played the demo in 1920*1200 So I donÃ‚Â´t get it why the full version wonÃ‚Â´t support it. And he doesnÃ‚Â´t mention any kind of editing or hack.

maybe you have not added the resolution to your card? if it is like nVidia you have to add some resolutions, i for instance have to add all the widescreen resolutions except 1680 x 1050

You are spot on that you often need to add those extra res you want to play in. In this case I took it for granted since it is his native res and if he's not using it on the desktop..... :D

And like framerateuk said. Try reinstalling.

The reason you only see 1600x1200 is because you need to set the aspect ratio to 16:10. This should be on the same display options section as the resolutions. It is defaulted to 4:3 and because of this, all you will see initially is 4:3 resolutions. Once you change it to 16:10, all of your ws resolutions that your monitor/driver supports should show up.

Aww come on Paddy, go easy on him. He's just frustrated and anxious to play COD2 at it's native widescreen glory.

But then again... yeah... just go look. It's right there in the in game options right below the resolutions.

Thats because I technically havent even hooked up my new monitor yet... I just bought it today. And I have to smooth things over with my new videocard too before I can get things to work, this is being posted from my second PC.

Hook up the monitor, and 1920x1200 will be available to you.

I'm sorry to have come across as harsh but ... come on ... there is a Solutions list ... a Master Games List and a Detailed Report for this game where you can find the answers ...

You failed to mention your monitor wasn't hooked up yet and so wasted a lot of time ... :roll:
Then when given an answer by Gabbo you asked another question when you could find the answer just by trying what he had suggested ... after you hooked up your monitor ... :roll:

If the guys had know you hadn't hooked up your monitor then most of the answers you were given would not have been necessary.
You would have been told ...

Just hook up your monitor and start the game ... in the games options just choose your aspect ratio and then your desired resolution... :D
