Stranglehold in TripleHead ...

Post by Paddy the Wak »

Racer_S has finished the FOV Tool for Stranglehold ...
Thank you to him and all that donated ... :D
Download here ... CLICK ME

To get the game going in TH ...
First to get the resolution ...
I needed to add ... -ResX=3840 -ResY=1024 ... to the shortcut target line.
So that for me it reads ...
"C:Program FilesMidway GamesStrangleholdBinariesRetail-Stranglehold.exe" -language=eng -ResX=3840 -ResY=1024

Now start the FOV tool ... set as follows ...
FOV ................... 1.09
Width FOV .......... 1
Leave the tool running and start the game.

Once in the game Press the * key on your Nubmer Pad to enable the FOV fix.

The game menu screens are horz+ without the FOV tool ... so with the fix enabled they will have a particularly wide FOV and are up-side-down.
To disable for the Menu screens if you want to ... Press the / key on the Number Pad.

EDIT : to update with the new FOV tool that fixes the fogging issue the previous tool had.

I bet if you change DoF it would fix that. I haven't tried the game yet so I couldnt tell you if it was possible or not.

I have updated the first post with the latest FOV tool that fixes the fogging issue the previous tool had.

Please re read the first post as there are a couple of changes to the way the tool works.

hey does anyone know where to change the resX and resY in the downloaded version of strangle hold. when i open up my stranglehold game i have 6 folders, they are as followed
1 config
2 localization
3 pc-only
4 cookpc
5 movies
6 splash

i'm assuming that is has to be in config since that is the only folder with notepad in it. however i breezed through it and didn't see the resx and y in there so i'm gonna look again, but if someone has the downloaded version and has applied this FOV hack please let me know where on this huge notepad page the res is located. thanks again to race-s i really can't wait to try this out in th2g

From what I understand ... if you edit any of the config files the game will crash and you will need to reinstall if you didn't back up the file before the edit.

The only way to change the res as I know it is to add that bit to the shortcut as in the first post.

hey paddy i found out that i actually deleted my stranglehold game, now that i reinstalled it i have the binaries folder. when i go into that what do i need to do, i tried to rename the retail stanglehold shortcut to what you put but it didn't work, i actually turned my main menu upsidedown. i thought that might have been it but i pressed the * key and nothing happened. could you please explain to me if i have to rename that file or what do i have to do exactly, sorry for my misunderstanding on how to get this done. i also tried to click on the retailstranglehold icon to see if it would change the titel bar on the top of the page but didn't effect that at all. please help me out man, i've been waiting to use this game in th2g since it came out. thanks in advance

What's the setting for 1680*1050 (16:10)?
Does anyone know this?

You must set 0,84 and 0,84 in Bioshock.
Are these the same settings for Stranglehold?

Thanks!

Dunno what they are for 16:9 as I haven't tried it in WS yet.
Just use the controls outlined on the front of the tool to alter it to the same vertical FOV as 4:3. (as in the screenshots above)
