Worked for me ... :D
You still get the borders between the high and low res textures showing up ... but at least the textures in the distance look better ... 8)

Here are screenshots from my comp showing the texture borders before and after the mod and I tweaked the textures further in Photoshop to make them not so dark and so the borders show up less ... 8)
NOTE ... uGridsToLoad = 5 ... for all screenshots
Before the mod ...
After the mod ...
After my Photoshop tweak ...
I might try to tweak them some more ...

Uhm, what good are Photoshopped screenshots? Keep it real, please. :p
From what I've seen in the screenshot, the mod does seem to help, but the texture borders are nevertheless damn ugly. :(

I think he edited the texture in Photoshop, not the image.

Ohhh... so that darkness of distant grass isn't a graphics glitch then? o_O
In that case, Paddy, you should send the corrected textures to that mod team and have 'em distribute the entire fix to the problem.

Those screenshots are not tweaked in Photoshop ... !!!
I tweaked the game textures ...
I made them the same colours/brightness as the near textures so that they don't look so ugly ...
They are very real in my game ... 8)

Hi guys ... I have uploaded my updated shaja textures for you all to use if you want ... 8)
Here is the link ... Updated shaja Textures
Here is the readme included in the rar file ...
A big thanks to shaja for making this mod ... all I have done is brighten the textures and tweak the colour a little to get them to blend better with near detail textures.
Oblivion texture mod ...
To get them in the game just put this "Textures" folder in your Oblivion "Data" folder ... C:Program FilesBethesda SoftworksOblivionData
Keep all the folders that are inside this "Textures" folder ... the directory structure is needed.
To uninstall just remove the folder ... :)
I wouldn't do this next bit unless you have to ...
For a few people this doesn't work straight off ... and if so put the ... "ArchiveInvalidation.txt" in to your "Oblivion" folder ... C:Program FilesBethesda SoftworksOblivion
Cheers ... Paddywak
You will still need to download the Loreroth mod if you want it too ... get it here ...

I installed both of the LOD mods, and WOW! what a difference! Strange thing though, I am not having the "darker" distance texture problems that Paddy is. The mods look fine without tweaking. Perhaps an ATI vs. Nvidia rendering difference.
Me love this game.

Hi Gabbo ...
It turns out that the in game lighting for near land textures are handeled differently to the distant land textures ... so the textures will look different depending on the lighting at that time.
So there will be a time of day (in the game) when both my textures and the original ones look good and a time of day when they will look bad ...
Glad you like the mod though ... it does make the game look so much better.
