The Godfather, Will it have WS support?
The Godfather, Will it have WS support?
Hi, one game i looking forward to is the new "The Godfather" game, however after reading countless times that EA lacks WS in many other thier other games (NFS, BF2 etc.), im wondering if they will include it into this new game.
Maybe no-one has the game now, but soon as they do could u let us know :) To me it makes the difference of buying it, or not. I need 16:9, 1360x768 support.
many thanks

1680x1050 is my native resolution and was selectable from the options menu. However, it's not true widescreen, they cut off the top and bottom. The cut-scenes are letterboxed yet even there they didn't give true widescreen. But hey, at least I didn't have to search and hack some file to get the resolution. I guess you could say this is a step forward for EA, if a tiny one.

Hey zig ...
Thanks very much for the info ... 8)
Is there any chance of a couple of screenshots from the same place in the game ... one at a 4:3 res and one in widescreen so we can compare them and add this to the solutions section ?

Good old EA...
EA's 2006 motto: "EA... kings of FOV-V!"

Well, they atleast have a widescreen resolution selectable from the options menu now.
That's one step in the right direction. :D
Now there is just one small step left, but for EA that's probably a huge leep.

I have a very wierd problem with the widescreen, i have a benq 202W and the native res is 1680x1050, so i choose that in the godfather, i can play the prelude fine but the moment it goes to the real game or i quit the game and choose to play again it locks my entire computer and i have to change the res in the registry, i can play it at 1440x900 ok but it just doesnt like me having that res. any help would be appericated

Jep, it is! :)

oh well, guess ill leave it then, if no real widescreen support.
I guess the only way it will get though to EA if people dont buy thier games until they support it, afteral I bet EA is only after profit. If an extra 10,+mins of a programmers time isnt worth it (FOV isnt that hard too add, specially for professional programmers etc.) then im sorry but I wont buy. Shame...

Re: 1920x1200
No widescreen for me. 1600x1200 is the max resolution i can select for my 2405FPW.
Has anyone been able to select 1920x1200 ?
Nope. Max resolution I get with my config (7900GTX SLI & 2405FPW) is 1680*1050. Forcing it in the INI file doesn't work either. I just switched back to 1600*1200 cause of the screwed up FOV.

EA is so frakking retarded. I don't think they meant to have the widescreen resolution options available, since the FOV is screwed up. However, 1680*1050 came up as the default resolution when I started the game. I feel sorry for all those folks who have widescreen displays, but don't have a clue about FOV, etc. Maybe it will generate a bunch of support calls to EA and eat into their profit margin.

I guess it does but I didnt notice it until I compared the above screenies.I dont think it takes away from the game. Also did notice it in the "mobface"portion but thats it..Its definetely better than no ws support at all.
